Why? Did he screw you over somehow? Managing a team in a franchise as far down in the shitter as the O's are is kind of a suicide mission, but a well-paying one, I suppose.

I am an O's fan (as best as one can be anyway). They have a good future and it'd be nice to have a manager who had a future as a big league guy. Other than being an interim soewhere else down the road, I don't think Trembley will ever get another full time big league gig. I do like him, but I just see him more of a bench coach at most. Hillman seems better at communicating and he could do alot with the talent coming up to Baltimore the next few years.

I like the Orioles and hope they get better. Hell of a division they play in, though.

In other news, does Hanley Ramirez not want to play baseball so much anymore?

This has been an crazy year for prospects, with guys like Mejia, Heyward, Smoak, Neftali Feliz and the likes all being top prospects playing pretty big roles for their teams.

But it's about to get even crazier.

Stephen Strasburg (Nationals vs Pirates) and Mike Stanton (Marlins vs Phillies), basically the 1 & 2 prospects in the minors make their Major League debuts on Tuesday.

I'm excited.

Heard this from multiple executives: The White Sox have made it clear they are open for business, and ready to trade off parts from what has been a very disappointing team. The perception of other teams is that Paul Konerko is available right now

Who wants Paul Konerko in a career/contract year? You know you want to give up your best prospect for him. C'mon, you know you want to.

Can they throw Ozzie in on any trade? I love the guy, but he's clearly lost his grip on this team. While they're at it, they should dump Don Cooper and Greg Walker, too.

Can I ask why he has lost his grip on the team?

I haven't heard anything about trouble in the clubhouse. Is it just because they are old and suck? Because that's not really his fault.

I think cryptique is suggesting that the low performance all across the board suggests that Ozzie isn't motivating the team.

Some of them just have sucked and not because they are old (Beckham, Floyd, Peavy, Quentin, etc.). Though maybe Peavy and Floyd have been unlucky more than sucked (both with xFIP in the low 4's).

It is, of course, difficult to evaluate manager's in these terms and certainly players should motivate themselves. But expected vs. actual performance has to take play some role.

Well, Beckham's young, that happens with young players. Chris Coghlan's been almost as bad, ignoring a recent 10 game hot streak, and he was even better than Beckham last year.

Quentin seems to not be fully recovered from that wrist injury 2 years back, and those kinds of injuries can just kill a young power hitter. He simply never may recover.

As for Floyd and Peavy, both are probably the recipients of a little bad luck, but that defense doesn't look too hot to me.

I'm not a big fan of Ozzie, but I'd take him as my manager. At the very least, he's interesting.

strasburg looked amazing.

of course it was the Pirates....

Indians are up next for him. Well planned debut, I'd say.

Let's not overlook the Marlins callup of their top prospect, 1B Mike Stanton, who seems very Evan Longoria-ish.

Unfortunately, our bullpen continues to be stinky-poo.

Could've used the old, white Mike Stanton too.
