madmur
You should check out Grace Potter & the Nocturnals.Grace could sing the phonebook & it would sound amazing! They have a late 60's, early 70's classic rock sound & she's not hard hard on the eyes either!! They have sort of patterned themselves after The Band &they just recently played at Levon Helms Midnight Ramble.Check out the songs Nothing but the Water(Boston music awards version is the best) & Big White Gate onYouTube. Grace rocks! Big White Gate is a very well crafted and recorded song. They recently added Catherine Popper on bass and another guitarist. Why they needed the other guitarist I don't know. Scott does a spectacular job! Haven't caught anything recent but "This Is Somewhere" is a great album as is "Nothing But The Water" I've also been digging Brandie Carlile lately - her new album "Give Up The Ghost" is okay but doesn't hit me like her earlier stuff! Just got some Calexico albums and plan on listening tonight. Heard them via "Senor" with Willie and "Going To Acapulco" with Jim James.

isadorah
OK, this is probably just me, but it really bugs me that this thread is in the Just a Fan section and not the Someone Else's Song section. I mean, I get the whole 'if you like Wilco' check this band out, but we're not actually talking about Wilco in the thread here, we're talking about other bands. Yeah, there's a comparison, but is there...is this really about Wilco or about other music. ...this is what happens when I am stuck in limbo on a project at work, I waste time pondering things of little consequence. ViaVancouver
Dolorean is very nice. Get to see a lot of them or Al James solo here in Portland. Maybe it's the winter time, but I've been going back to South San Gabriel for weeks. And Lambchop.
