GJBlizzard
Hello all, I am new to the forums and I was hoping someone could tell me how to contact the members of the band. I am trying to set up a surprise engagement for their show in Richmond, VA. and I need some way of contacting the band, I have already emailed their management, booking and media agents. Thank you all so much for your help.
Dude
If you've tried several channels and no one's gotten back to you, maybe it's not in the cards.
howdjadoo
It's like starting "Where's The Loft" thread again
Doug C
Say, where is the loft?     Edited so as to not sound like a jerk-face because I am not one.
SarahC
I would say your best bet is to go hang around the venue the afternoon of the show.

I am trying to set up a surprise engagement for their show in Richmond, VA. and I need some way of contacting the band, I have already emailed their management, booking and media agents. Thank you all so much for your help. You've gone through all the appropriate channels already. There's really nothing else to do, unless you'd want to email a second time. Going through TMM is your most solid bet. Perhaps a phone call would be more effective.
The High Heat
You haven't been reading The Catcher in the Rye, have you?
kidsmoke
You haven't been reading The Catcher in the Rye, have you? Me, or the original poster?  That's a book I really oughta reread...it's been years.
The High Heat
Me, or the original poster? Â That's a book I really oughta reread...it's been years.OP. I haven't read it. As a music fan I'm afraid of the effect it might have on me.
kidsmoke
Oh, you should definitely read it.
GJBlizzard
You haven't been reading The Catcher in the Rye, have you? I haven't been reading The Catcher in the Rye recently, but I definitely love that book and have read it 3 or 4 times. It's a good book to read at different times in your life because you will always find a different meaning in it. I'm not entirely sure what the joke/connection is to my original post though, I'm guessing you're trying to make some commentary on the John Lennon/Mark David Chapman incident? but I don't really know what that has to do with a proposal. I appreciate the try though. To everyone else: thanks for your suggestions and taking the time out to even read my post let alone reply to it. I still have some time until the actual show so I'm not giving up hope but it's starting to look like it's not in the cards. But, once again, thanks for the help guys. isadorah
when you say 'surprise engagement' do you mean you want to propose to someone at a wilco concert or you are trying to put together a surprise party with the band.

CrisBcn
Ooh, that's lovely!! Try again e-mailing, I hope it works! You could also try the song request on the website: request "YOUR SONG" several times explaining the reason why you'd like them to play and maybe they can get in touch with you before the show!Another idea maybe: having other fan who'd be going to a previous show and manages to talk to the band or their crew to pass on your message... Good luck again! And keep us posted on any news about it...
bjorn_skurj
Hey, they blew off my request for an interview for the Woodstock Times and I have 18,000-plus posts here.
GJBlizzard
Hey, they blew off my request for an interview for the Woodstock Times and I have 18,000-plus posts here.  Wow. That sucks. How did you get in contact with them?
bjorn_skurj
Wow. That sucks. How did you get in contact with them? The promotion company (Higher Ground Music) called us up trying to get us to agree to a trade deal (ads for free tickets). We did not take that deal, but in the ensuing deal (where cash was paid) they said we could have an interview, but no dice. Didn't even get a callback saying "forget about it, boys are too busy talking to Spin." I was actually pretty pissed - we are not accustomed to being blown off by sources - but then I went to show and it kicked so much ass that all was forgiven.
Guest Runaway Jim
Say, where is the loft?     Edited so as to not sound like a jerk-face because I am not one. Wow. I kiddingly posted a "where's the loft?" comment and it was instantly deleted and I got a PM telling me I'm a creep. What did you do to deserve the right to make a joke? What did you do to deserve the right to make a joke?I am not at liberty to say due to a pending civil suit.  Seriously, it is because I used a lower case 'l'. I was merely referring to the upstairs open area in some houses. I didn't know where it was until I received a PM after my post.
FYI
Hey, they blew off my request for an interview for the Woodstock Times and I have 18,000-plus posts here. That's why.Unless you kept that bit of info to yourself. If not, next time keep it to yourself.Being an obsessive poster on a band's message board comes off as unprofessional. No one is telling you not to, go ahead if it makes you happy, just don't expect it to necessarily endear you to the band and their camp. Likely the opposite.Just an FYI. I am dead serious about my work. If the band didn't think it was worth their time talking to our publications, that's fine, but I think it was bad form for their PR people, after they promised our publisher an interview, to not follow through. And no, I did not bring VC into it. I agree with you there - it would not have been professional.
