kavorka
What's the word? I don't see any dates on their site. I've been so busy i haven't had a chance to see them since Montana this winter. I'm jonesing, and i'm worried they may be taking an extended break.

kavorka
Is this your bi-annual showcasing of your avatar? I don't get it. Is it some kind of "i'm a real via chicago boarder" joke, or does it upset you that the kid can dance better than you? I hope it's not a racial thing. i only choose it because the kid was obviously feeling it. pretty awesome, i think.
kavorka
I agree. All it needed was a question mark. Fixed. Is this one of those nazi message boards where every little detail is scrutinized and censored by someone who has nothing better to do? I would have added a question mark if i wanted it. Seems contrary to stirring up converstaion. Not like this board is on fire. Is someone going to tell me about how locals rule and i shouldn't surf their break?

kavorka
You see, now this is good stuff. go ahead, pile on. i can take it. Seriously though, did they set any kind of time table. A chum in passing told me he heard they were taking an entire year off. That bummed me out, and i wondering if anybody heard anything beyond their in the studio. theashtraysays
Dear fellow nazi, there were some emails from Wilco HQ that said something like the South Bend show was the last show of 2010 in the midwest, and that the European leg of the tour would be it for 2010, so that's where most of us got the idea that this would be it for the year. It was pretty clear since July or so. You can join the e-mailing list on wilcoworld and be "in the know" like the rest of us. Or there's a thread on this board which has them all as well. Analogman seems to get those emails before anyone else. Must be a time zone thing or something. Carry on.

I believe in absolute freedom of speech regardless of the speech. the best way to combat bad speech is with good speech (which i believe is still the prevailing theory among philosophers, but with this up tick in socialism...). Thank you. I've just been wrapped up in a project for 8 months. I was in jail. jk. Missed everything. Didn't even get to make Solid Sound. I'll check that thread. I am just a loser who has wasted most of his time online, when I should have been doing something else. As you said, it's not hard to learn what Wilco is doing. All one has to do is look at their official website, sign up for the email deal, or use the search function on this message board. I think the person who started this thread really just wants people to clink on the gigantic link in his signature line. One thing I find annoying here these days - people pushing their products and not really participating here, except to start threads to do that, and/or to somehow draw attention to themselves. LouieB
Clearly the best way to find out what the band is doing is going to Wilcoworld. Also clearly, Wilco has been on the road for a few years straight. Most bands don't do nearly as much touring as Wilco has done to every part of the world. More people have been able to see them than ever and I sure hope they have made a ton of money for their sakes so they they can take it easy. I wish themn well in their hiatus, they deserve it. Hopefully they are going to take a bunch of time off and make a really kick ass album. LouieB
theashtraysays
You probably know this - but that was a joke. Actually I always assumed it was more "public service announcement". But the way that you always posted them a good 24 hours before I got my email was always a little, well, creepy.

I know. It cracked me up. I hear ya, but usually the fans have some inside info. I used to be on the mailing list, but sometimes it gets junked. I've tried participating here years prior (before my current ID), and it was just a bit slower at that time. Maybe it's picked up. Regardless, I'm big Wilco fan, and I'm not a newb (though i lurk more than post). But i here what you're saying.

u2roolz
Great pics. Are you on dial up? Nope. No dial up over here. It's just that my iMac is almost running on empty because of all of the live shows that I have downloaded & uploaded to it. I think that I may write a book about it.
