Guest Speed Racer
I mean, it's obvious, but still.
knotgreen
i've never seen shake it off. is it worth picking up another copy of SBS to get it?
jff
Is Shake It Off the short film that comes with SBS? Netflix has Shake It Off, but something about their description made me think it was not the same thing as the SBS bonus video.
Guest Speed Racer
Yeah, that's what Shake it Off is. It's nice - performances in the Loft, nice interior exploration of Tweedy Manor. And needless abstract scapes so revered by the Burn to Shine folks (which, along with the music, ruined Ashes).

Knotgreen, it's enjoyable and is worth seeing. You might be able to see it on Youtube. I'm not sure if it's worth buying another copy of SBS for.
Atticus
for the sake of completeness you should add the Kicking Television movie, even though unreleased (the one that was passed around here like crazy around christmas '05?)
u2roolz
Hello, Where is Man In The Sand?!?!?!

Guest Speed Racer
Eh, I didn't include the Kicking TV DVD because I wanted to exclude the unofficial releases. But Jeff and Sue's backstage duet of "Forget the Flowers" almost tipped the scale for me. And I totally forgot about Man in the Sand. Guess I don't include out of print ones, either. mpolak21
I Am Trying To Break Your Heart is great. I loaned my friend Sunken Treasure four years ago, and never bothered to get it back. I fell asleep the only time I watched Shake It Off and I didn't even bother with Ashes of American Flags. --Mike
smells like flowers
And needless abstract scapes so revered by the Burn to Shine folks (which, along with the music, ruined Ashes).Wow, I couldn't disagree with you more. I really loved Ashes of American Flags and thought Brendan Canty's filmwork was beautiful. For me, it added a whole new layer of meaning to the music.

For me, it added a whole new layer of meaning to the music. I too thought that it was beautifully photographed, but there was a lot of missteps in the editing department. For me, the best edited song on there was Via Chicago. There was a lot of strange camera coverage (on other songs) on a band member who really wasn't doing a solo at that particular moment.Via Chicago had such emotional editing behind it that it made it ultimately cinematic: a perfect fusion of words and music as told through pictures. It was perfectly and meticulously timed. It's just too bad that the rest of the DVD didn't look that way. It doesn't really bother me too much because I'm thankful that we have a very amazing live DVD.
austrya
for the sake of completeness you should add the Kicking Television movie, even though unreleased (the one that was passed around here like crazy around christmas '05?) I forgot all about that one until I read this. That one scene where Jeff tried to kick the screen in on that old TV still cracks me up. I mean, the fact that it didn't break was one thing but his technique was just awesome.
