Magnetized
Glad you started this thread, Donna. I wanted to do the same but might have been too drunk. . .er, SHY. . . to do it without your prompting. Anyway, happy new year to one and all!! It's kind of crazy to think how much a part of my life you guys are, when I don't know most of you and will probably meet only a select handful of you in the future. But crazy as it may be, I want to tell you all how much I look forward to reading what you have to say every day. Yes, I love the band and that is the main reason I log on here almost every day--and sometimes multiple times during the day--but you guys are a big part of the experience as well. I've had the pleasure of meeting several of you and I hope to widen that circle in the coming months and years. There's just something really validating about an online community of people who share your passion, and to know that they're not crazy and neither are you. We just have exceptional taste. I was at a party tonight with a diverse group of people including doctors (one of whom wanted to become a baker--while keeping his "day job" and another who was also a wonderful photographer) as well as school teachers who were would-be art historians and a classics scholar who owns an independent video store. Along with non-luminaries like myself, a lapsed lawyer who seems to have gone around the bend for a certain band from Chicago. I love the notion that you don't have to be defined by what you do for a living; at least, I choose to believe that. New year's resolutions don't seem to work for me so I'm not going to state one, but I do have a new year's wish for you all--for health, love, passion, and fulfillment in your lives. And I hope the next album blows us away--or at least satisfies many of us. (Can't dream too big, y'know. . . ) Happy 2011!

kidsmoke
Happy New Year to all! I had a great Christmas and New Year! We hit the beach on NY Eve -- 60 in Cleveland in late December is a gift. Hubby wore sandals, Princess had no jacket on. I tried to upload a pic -- I guess it was too big. Oh well! I'd like to see your photo, jessica! take it over here to upload: http://imageshack.us/ and then once it's uploaded, select the link that says for forums...that way you get the right sized one. Of course you can preview your post to be sure it's coming through right.
