Excellent! I went Bee Gees (their sixties albums are brilliant, and the disco stuff gets a pass for the brilliance of the "we can try to understand the New York Times effect on man" line in Stayin' Alive) in the first one and then my beloved Go-Betweens in the second.

If it wasn't for the Bee Gees, it would've been the Go-Betweens all the way. I own more Go-Betweens records--have their whole discography--than Bee Gees, but a head to head of their best records has me tipping the scale in the Bee Gees favor.

Agree that NZ should not be lumped in with Aus - totally different culture and music scene.

 

For Australia it's The Go-Betweens by a country mile - right up there with Wilco as one my favourite bands of all time:
