Sun Caught Fire
I have not seen anything about this show, but just picked up my shirt at Red Rocks and all the summer tour dates are listed on the back and it lists this show right after the two Brooklyn Shows.
linclink
WOW!! I truly wish this was the case...but...my bet is that the date fell through after the shirts went to the printer. It'd be pretty weird for another NYC date to be announced this late...but...you never know. Nothing on the Terminal 5 website, nor the Wilco one.
remphish1
ahh I want a T5 show! I can't prob make the Brooklyn shows because they start too early! I can't leave NJ until 7pm I would miss a good chunk of the show as is..T5 they would get on later
bböp
Looks like this show is official now. It's on the Wilcoworld shows page, with tickets allegedly on sale Friday at noon EDT. It appears that there will be no presale. Wonder why they waited so long to formally announce it. Perhaps to get the Brooklyn shows close to a sellout first? I know a lot of people hate T5, but I guess it's OK if you're fairly close to the front...
JAK2112
T5 should at the very least be one of the more intimate shows Wilco has done in NYC in a while (probably since they played at Warsaw in BK 5 years ago). But i still don't like the place that much, sound is muddy, and the venue is hard to get to and out of the way. It'll be interesting for sure.
Sun Caught Fire
Funny that the tour shirt was correct and had the information before publicly announced. I guess they did wait until brooklyn sold out. I think central park is probably more "intimate" than terminal 5, but I never complain about a show just across town. Should provide great setlist variation to have 3 local shows in three nights.
barbkm
Waaaaaaaaa!!! I will be in CA that whole week for work. Killing me. KILLING ME!!!!!! AHHHHH!

parisisstale
There's really nothing i've ever seen at T5 that could be described as "intimate". They overpack the place, it's always been boiling hot and the acoustics are awful. Other than that it's a fine venue. I'll still be there. the only show i truly regret missing is the Warsaw in Brooklyn show from a few years back.....easily one of my favorite boots
Dmada
wow still tix left!
theunfoldingplan
I wonder who is opening? My ultimate wish would be The War on Drugs, they have some open dates between a show in Long Island on 7/21 and Lollapalooza. I have been obsessively listening to them for months and think both bands would compliment each other for an amazing night of music.
Sparky speaks
wow still tix left! Thanks, just got two. July 25 is my birthday no less. Wasn't near a computer all day Friday or Saturday. Didn't think there would be any left. Five Wilco shows in 12 days, not bad.

I have been obsessively listening to them for months and think both bands would compliment each other for an amazing night of music. Slave Ambient has been my fav record for a while now, and saw them play it brilliantly a few weeks ago at Sasquatch. You're right they would definitely compliment Wilco perfectly
JAK2112
I would love to see them play with Sharon Van Etten, she looks like she'll be available during that time, and she recently did the Big Star tribute thing with with Wilco over in Europe (forget which festival). War on Drugs bore me a bit, saw them open for Sharon a few years ago, and thought they were pretty mediocre.

I'm just saying it's way more intimate than seeing them at Prospect Park, or Hammerstein or something. It's no Bowery Ballroom though, and definitely won't be as great as Warsaw. Would have been real great to see them do something maybe a little smaller, like Webster Hall, Beacon Theatre, or United Palace, but i think that Terminal 5 will at least be an energetic show, i think that's where they'll bust out some real deep cuts. parisisstale
Irving Plaza holds a special place in my heart thanks to wilco, pavement & gbv 6/8/04 Irving plaza might be my fav show attended, def the most intimate & mellowww
theunfoldingplan
Cibo Matto opening up? Certainly not what I was hoping for, regardless it should be a Wilco great show.
linclink
Cibo Matto opening up? Certainly not what I was hoping for, regardless it should be a Wilco great show.1) I've got to drive home, 5-6 hours, right after this gig, so adding an opening act, almost no matter who is not a happy thing for me...I'm OK with Cibo Matto, but really would rather not have any one opening up...also because...1a) Now not only will I be driving home later, but...I also will have to be standing up front in a crowded club (after waiting in line for a long time to be up front) to get to Wilco before the too long, too late, drive home...Ugh & Aargh... Sparky speaks
Doesn't Sean Lennon play with them? If he still does, look at the bright side, you'll get to see a Beatle son and maybe a Beatle wife in the crowd.

I am the oposite of you. I have a young son and I can't leave for a concert until my wife gets home from work. She gets home about 730 then I got to drive from NJ. Because of the opener I will make Wilco with a few minutes to spare... Where are you coming from linclink?
