Well, now I feel like I’ve been to a genuine, proper South American show. With apologies to Uruguay, tonight’s show in Argentina was more of what I expected when I finally got the chance to experience a Wilco concert in this part of the world. Soccer-style chants (“Olé, olé, olé, Wheel-co, Wheel-co…”)? Check. Singing along with not only lyrics, but entire guitar riffs? Sure. Unbridled enthusiasm for just about anything that took place on stage? Yes, indeed. Jeff and Co. had played in the land of tango, empanadas and Messi once before — an appearance at the Festival BUE to close out

It’s not often that Wilco plays in South America, and it’s perhaps even rarer still when the band cancels a gig, so when those two occurrences converged back in 2016 on the sextet’s brief October jaunt around the continent, it was a memorable moment. Specifically, the date was a scheduled Oct. 10 stop in the Uruguayan capital of Montevideo that never happened because — if memory serves — there were some issues with transport of the band’s gear that was going to prevent it from arriving in time for the show. Well, it took nearly nine years but Wilco finally made its long-awaited Uru

Wilco — 25 May 2025, São Paulo, Brazil (C6 Festival)

Unfortunately I wasn't there either...thanks a lot, Brazilian government (and your recently revised visa policy). I can confirm from multiple sources that the band was indeed quite happy with the show, marveling that the crowd was singing along to entire songs. Seems like it would have been a lot of fun, though someday I hope to not only make it to Brazil but also to see a non-festival Wilco set in which the band can play a bit longer than just 90 minutes. Now that would be something special. -
Funny, I haven't gotten any message from Ticketmaster about a time change. 8:30 would seem to be maybe the time Wilco would go on, but I don't know for sure. Seems like maybe Deep Sea Diver from 7:30-8, set change from 8-8:30 and Wilco from 8:30-10:30 would be about right?

Alas! Hope you'll be somewhere appealing (and I don 't mean just Cardiff for the ruggers)... -
Wilco wrapped up the first leg of its 2025 touring calendar in tornado-ravaged Kentucky the same way it began three weeks earlier in steamy southern Alabama: With an extended “Evening With…” performance featuring two sets of music that offered a little something to just about every level of the fanbase, from casual to diehard. As someone who was lucky enough to attend both the first and last shows of the run, you could debate about the different setlist choices between the two and you might have detected a hint of tour weariness after a relatively grueling jaunt through the Southea

Got my ticket! Obrigado. Will I see you at the RAH next month (provided I survive the southern hemisphere)?

[Mods: please merge this with the other thread, if you're so inclined.] Where were we? Well, by this penultimate show of the first leg of Wilco’s 2025 touring schedule, we pretty much have come to know what to expect from the band’s set. There have been occasional curveballs in the setlist over the past few weeks, but by and large, Jeff and Co. have stuck to a general framework for their roughly 120 minutes on stage every night and those who have been following along, either in person or virtually, can certainly see the basic show that the band wants to present. So in Ashevill

Ta(p-in)! Well, you hit the fairway on all the terms I couldn’t quite fit onto my scorecard. Double bogey for me!

After a stormy start to the week, the weather finally cleared tonight in Charlotte, where Wilco used a trio of birdies — One Wing, Hummingbird and Bird Without A Tail/Base Of My Skull — to card a round of three under par and take a stunning lead after the first round of the 2025 PGA Championship, one of the four major tournaments on the professional golfing calendar that is currently taking place at the Quail Hollow Club here. What’s that you say, indie/alt rock and pro golf don’t go together? Or just that sort of music and the well-heeled game of fairways, doglegs and bunkers in general?

Charles! Of course you trekked out to Wilmington. Was that the closest show on this run for you? Thanks very much for the report. Wish I could have gotten out there myself, but it was just too far of a detour with where I was coming from. I have actually seen a show out there before (Lake Street Dive, if I recall correctly) and was supposed to see another (My Morning Jacket) before scheduling forced me to cut out early. As far as sheds go, I remember it being fairly nice — especially if you're pretty close — if a bit generic. Wonder if Wilco will ever get back there. On the next amphitheater t

Ah, Wilmington. Known for Dawson’s Creek, the University of North Carolina at Wilmington and, uh…I’m not sure what else. This very well could have been the first Wilco show in the coastal North Carolina burg, but I’d have to double check on that. Anyway, I kind of doubt anyone on here was at this one — the fifth gig in five nights for Jeff and Co., a rarity that occurred because their Monday off day got wiped out by the Birmingham reschedule — but maybe I’ll be proven wrong… Having been to this venue myself, I wouldn’t have expected much more than a pretty standard show and that se
