More from Salon.com: ------------------------------- Joe's fall from grace Lieberman, the Democrats' man of faith, is now running on bad faith. By Sidney Blumenthal Aug. 09, 2006 | Joe Lieberman's fall from grace appears straightforward. In Connecticut, where George W. Bush and his war are intensely disliked, Lieberman stationed himself as the president's defender. But Lieberman's precipitous descent from nomination as vice president to rejection by his home state partisans is also something of a mystery. Lieberman was once the most attractive and promising Democrat in his state, h

With his behavior Tuesday night, Lieberman has turned himself into the most vivid symbol of the insular, arrogant, corrupt and power-desperate Washington establishment, the sheer cravenness and corruption of which are what catalyzed the campaign against him in the first place. Those who compose that entrenched B

I had sort of given up on the White Sox last night, but then I saw Jorge's "closer killers" post so I turned the game back on as I was attempting to drift off to sleep. Nice to see them pull that one out. Dye looked like he was going to be another strikeout victim, and then *smack*. I still have a shred of hope that they can catch the Tigers (who just don't seem to be having that collapse I think most people have been expecting), but I'm going to have to cheer hard for them to put some distance between themselves and the Twins, as well as whoever ends up second in the east.
