How were so many of you able to score Andrew Bird tickets at Schuba's, those seem to have gone in less than 30 seconds? Would have loved to get the chance to see him at Schubba's especially since Lolla's line-up is so ho-hum this year and decided to not go at all. Still trying to decide if I want to make the trek to the Tweedy solo fundraiser. I've been to several of these shows in the past, and they are all great, though it does seem odd that these genuinely spectacular shows never seem to see the light of day in the tape sharing world. Anybody score GA from the Wilcoworld ticketmaster pre-sale? For that matter, has anyone seen 4 pre-sales for one show? I'd hate to see what is left on Saturday.

Looks like I was one of the onlny few to go for reserved. Got 4 in section 104 Row H, and that looks fine to me. I'm sure I'll try and get a couple GA's, and decide later but just happy for now that I was able to score something.

kinda wishing they had a few more Fall dates to announce with this one, as there might be quite a few folks that might be a bit more eager to come see a Wilco show in Chicago. I'd expect this to be a tough ticket, but it should serve as a fine venue that will be able to cater to the amount of people that are gonna want to go to this show. hopefully tickets going on-sale so far in advance might shy some away in thinking there is plenty of time to secure tickets up lstr

I'm not so sure, we are talking 38,000+, it would have to take a pretty hefty supporting act or bill to pull off a sell-out or even come close imo. Elton and Billy didn't even sell out their second show there, granted they don't have tens of thousands crazed Chicago fans hungry for new material, but still I'd think Wrigley is still just a smidge out of their range and comfort level as far as their progression goes. 20,000 in thier hometown I can see without a probelm though with just the right amount of hype.

Actually they are having 3 concerts in Wrigley within a matter of 6 days starting tonight. Elton John and Billy Joel there this evening. That being said, a concert at Wrigley in late summer/ early fall does not seem very likely, even on top of the stretch that Wilco could/would play there, or want to for that matter.

I'm thinking after Europe...but that's just pure speculation on my part. Who knows if they'll even add more US dates besides this Chicago one. On a sidenote, you really think Allstate sound is worse than United Center? I'll take Allstate or Sears Center any day over the UC.

All it takes is one of these threads to get down on the abundance of sub-par venues we have here in Chicago. That's not to say we don't still have some really great ones as well, but it doesn't get much worse than the bottom of the list... Aragon-no comment. United Center- good call on the aluminum celing, awful sound for concerts. First Midwest-Tinley Park (perhaps the most awful outdoor amp in existance?) Vic/Riv/Metro-all need MAJOR work.

My bad, for whatever reason I read Aragon and thought Metro. Sounding so similar, you could see why I could get so easily confused. Aragon makes perfect sense, even though not neccessarily a sexy venue for them to play. Chicago Theatre would be very ideal as well

If that's true, I wish all of us good luck in getting a ticket. Process of elimination: just heard form a buddy who works Auditorium Theattre box office and has heard nothing on a Wilco show.

I don't know why, but I'm thinking a new different venue for this time around...the post does say show though as in singular, so I'm thinking it's gotta be a place that holds some peeps for a proper homecoming. Wrigley is too big, even in Chicago, perhaps with a nice double-bill with the likes of MMJ or something, but me thinks we would have certainly already heard about a Wrigley date. Millenium Park again would be cool no doubt, but again with the way the city pre-plans for these events, I'm not sure we wouldn't have already heard something. Just got back home here after a wonderful weekend among the rockies... The more I try to argue against it, the more it becomes all too clear that this was the best and most fun Wilco show that I've attended out of 20+ and thats with the 5 show residency included. Jeff and all the fellas were in such great spirits, there really must be something in the air up there to get so many legendary bands to play theyre very best at this awesome wonder of a venue. I wish I had better words to describe, the atmosphere and felling of this night would be tough to give justice to.

Yeah, but even Spiders took some time to grow into the mega rock-out anthem that it is today. The songs will mature live as they start to play them more. You Never Know is already sounding a bit more polished and loose live than the radio edit/album version.

Just want to get a general feeling on what peeps expect to be concert staples off this album. I have to admit I havent been watching sets all that closely in anticipation for Red Rocks, but it looks like the most new songs in one show have been 5 at Berkeley this past weekend? It seems that Sky Blue Sky tunes still take precedent in the early summer shows, and most certainly the spring shows. At the 2 Milwaukee early spring shows there were 2 new songs the first night and none the second. What new songs have yet to debut? I held out until I recieved my Kung Fu pre-order(s) yesterday and I couldn't be happier that I did, though the anticipation just about killed me. I wanted the new material fresh in my head anyways since I'll be travelling to see the fellas at Red Rocks this weekend, but now that I have listened to the album on vinyl, I can't possibly imagine any stream to be able to replicate what I heard and listened to last night for the first time. Hell, I don't even think the cd can touch the sound this album brings to vinyl. I think it's a very SOLID album, and cannot wait for the prospects and avenues
