Just wanted to take a pulse out there to see if anyone is still holding out and just about to lose it with anticipation. I am very proud of myself for waiting it out, the first time I will hear this entire album it will be on vinyl next Tuesday. What's really the bigger reason though is I'll be heading out to Red Rocks show next Friday for the show, and I really wanted to the new material to be fresh in my head, as it also somewhat adds to the anticipation of going to see the show. The month long of waiting has killed me.... what is all this talk about Bull Black Nova? Opinions from other

Good point there. WXRT has made it's fair share of plugs, but most people (that care) probably know about Wilco or the album here in Chicago already. I'd like to think Sky Blue Sky was a bit more premoted before the street date. Especially with magazine covers and articles... havent seen much this time around. The album leaking could also mean for more positive sales, as it opened up to a lot of people that may have not taken the opportuninty to listen otherwise. Leakage certainly didn't hurt DMB in their first couple weeks of album sales. I'll predict #2, missing out by a slim margin to

Did you do the express/overnight shipping option or just regular?

Much thanks! Greatly appreciate all the suggestions!

I may have 1 left. My girlie's friend from Colorado doesn't know who Wilco is, but wants to go to the show with us. I can let you know for sure and pm you later tonight if I have 2 available or what. I still got a lot to plan with the trip, hotels, Rockies tix for Saturday and a rental car. That reccomended Beatles hotel looks spiffy, I just don't think that wil be up to our speed. I hear for the weekend after the show, we'll want to stay in the LoDo area? Is pretty much the closest hotels to Red Rocks in Golden? Fat Tire or Coors tour? So many questions, so little time....

ok I had to top this as we are just a mere 2 weeks away now.... and getting pretty jacked! The girlie and I just booked our flights this morning and where we had a little bit of delay getting things organized, we were also waiting on a friend that was gonna hook us up with a place to stay and smokey favors Well he is gonna be outta of town now, but I still couldn't pass up tihs opportunity to go see my favorite band right now in a place that I've wanted to visit for at least 15 years. A couple questions for the local folks, do you reccomend anywhere to stay relatively close to Red Rocks?
-
Well, both bands do have a single called "You Never Know" but I'd like to think thats where the coincidences end. I was a die-hard dMB fan in my life, seen them well over 100 times and now have progressed to Wilco as my favorite band in the past several years. Neither band is a "jam band" so I'm not sure how much weight the atricle holds anyways, but I consider both more of a structured and segue-timing band. All of the solos for both bands are already planned, its more of full band timing and feeding off one another in a live setting. Both DMB and Wilco do a phenomenonal job of timing

That's the way I've always preferred to hear new material, but just my own personal opinion. I don't know if they'll bust all the new album at once when the tour resumes though, there was very little showcased in the small spring tour here in the states. Of course that was before the stream, but I'd still think they'll slowly integrate this album into setlists throughout the summer. I'll be ready to go for Red Rocks a week after the album is released.

Still holding out strong here.... but I don't know if I'll be able to last. Does everyone think they'll still wait until the album is released to start pumping these tracks out live?
-
I do hope this is a free app... but looks promising

No kidding, nevermind the fact the 9 foot-1500 pound animal was taking pictures with my favorite band. It was a pleasant surprise after a delightful German lunch that's for sure.

Allow me to shed some further light on this album cover if I may... my gf and I were in Milwaukee for the Wilco shows last month and happened to eat at Mader's for lunch the day the fellas were taking the shots with the camel outside the restaurant. (this was Night 2 April 15th) So I approach my car for a cig, and notice this huge camel in the alley behind the parking lot...I immediately think this odd, so I point it out to my girlfriend. Upon second look we noticed some professional lighting and several taking photos....We figured ok cool, they are filming some random commerical or ad. We

this probably makes sense as to why we haven't seen a pre-order package up for the new album yet.

That's what I was afraid of... oh well, at least I downloaded last night at a friend's and will be able to transfer my discs into my itunes. Really crisp sounding from the little I listened to last night.
-
So today is the last day the 9:30 Club full show DL is available right? Or because they are updating the roadcase, they will have it up until further notice? I already put it on disc, but I'd like to re-download with another copy on my desktop that has all my itunes library.

Awesome show at the Vic last night.... quite a bit different from seeing him open for Norah solo. The man can bring it!
-
It's too bad Andrew Bird is playing there a mere 10 days later with Death Cab for Cutie?
-
You me both and can also add to the list Tweedy's solos benefits from the Vic from the past 2 years....its kinda unfortuanate when you know there were multiple tapers at these shows.... But I kinda look at it this way, if a tape ever surfaces to a great concert I attended, I consider it a blessing and something to be cherished. There's nothing quite like re-living a concert experience that one attended, but from the friendly confines of one's car, couch, or iPod. Kudos to all the tapers and keeping the experiences alive!

Looking forward to seeing him here in Chicago at the Vic on Sunday. I think the impression(s) of seeing M. Ward live depends on the setting and who he was/would be ultimately be coupled with on stage. I've only seen him once, but he was opening for Norah Jones. It was a fantastic set, but very mellow, quite a few covers, and basically nothing from Post-War, even though the album had just been released and was the rave.

Thanks for sharing all the info and painting a picture for me. You've somehow made me even more excited and anxious to make this trip. What time does the lot usually open, what time does people start lining up at the gate to steak out good GA seats?
-
I'd be down with that more time for a 3.5 hour marathon set(s).
-
Yeah my receipt says GA0 so it's probably just a way of dividing up the GA tickets to know how many are left. This is all starting to set in.... I AM BUZZED!!! I wonder a possible co-headlining double bill? A night with Wilco alone?
-
I think there is a lot of people in the same boat... I'm pretty upset over the confusion and plan on letting wilco and their new ticketing agent know about it. Mercy. All be damned, why do they gotta stress people out like that! Back on track
