  1. but the Shepherd's Bush Empire is one of the smallest, intimate gigs in London. Unless you're holding out for a 'living-room' show, you'll be lucky to get anywhere smaller..
  2. the Paradiso (with it being in Holland like... see Pulp Fiction... ) used to have a stall selling dope and ready made joints!! Not sure if it still does, but you're never far from a 'coffee shop' in the low lands...
  3. The Bataclan is an old dance hall, about 1,000 - 1,500 capactiy (with dodgy electrics about 25 years ago.. ). The Paradiso is an old converted church with a lovely stained-glass window behind the stage, about 2,000 capacity (I think). Shepherds Bush Empire is an old BBC theatre with 3 balconies, about 2,500 capacity, lovely venue... I want to go them all!!!
  4. my favourite venue in London... Shepherds Bush, Empire!! Paris, Bataclan (I've played there!!!)... Ghent, Amsterdam, Barcelona... what an idylic few days that could be ......
  5. depends on the guitarist usually... Freebird definitely sucks....
  6. are they? Almost never hear them on the radio, hardly ever get written about in any music mags/papers..? They were the best thing on at Glastonbury that year, as we were leaving, one of the guys on the gate was randomly asking the punters who they enjoyed the most, I answered "Wilco of course, they're actually the best band in the world.."... I don't think he believed me ..
  7. Nothing yet on the rumours front. Last time they played to a mostly empty field as they played at midday??? The time they played before, they came on the 'other' stage mid afternoon, Jeff said something like hello motherf**kers, and proceeded to become my favourite band ever since that afternoon. I think they need a little help from the radio over here if the festivals are going to be any use in getting them more known... but I'm happy the way things are.. I'd go to All Tomorrow's Parties, but there's only the larger, more expensive appartments left.... will they really come all the way to Eng
  8. on&on&on is my favourite so far... .. why do so many people dislike it so much?
  9. i think some of the compilations are quite a good start. There's sooooo much to choose from. Do you like instrumental stuff? guitar? sax? keyboards? modern? traditional? vocal? If you have a lending library that has cd's, that's a perfect way to find out what you like? Also, some of the 100 (or however many) best albums lists aren't a bad way to get some ideas... Django Rheinhardt, John Coltrane, some Count Basie... some of my 'likes'

    Roadcase updated

I'm having trouble listening to the show, it's as if it's running at double speed...... not playing fast, but like when a cd starts skipping bits, is it just me?
  11. reminds me of when I went to see Keith Richards a few years ago, and I said it was the best Stones show I'd been to in years. Dave Gilmour, sounds like he's doing the better Floyd shows..
  12. Very happy for you Wilco fans in London, Ontario ... but my heart skipped a little when I recieved the e-mail saying new shows, then I saw London and was very happy for a nanosecond, before I saw Ontario ... ..... here's hoping for a trip to the uk soon, (or maybe just Europe, give me an excuse to getoutahere for a weekend..)
  13. That looks (sounds) like a great set list. Some new ones, mixing up the order as usual, ending the main set with Monday . Please come over to Europe... Monday's pretty rocking isn't it? (or are you referring to just the new ones?...)
