  1. well, you either get to see way more shows than is fair, or you could stop playing it..... As I don't get to see them that often, and I like the song, i was pleased with it. Live, it's a great tune, and for the break, Nels just kind of took off, started jumping up and down, and jumped right out of view (from where I was standing) to the side of the stage, and came bouncing back on, with him and Mikael smiling at each other...
  2. that's very true... and very dim of me!! I relate to most of the trcks on AGIB the way they're played live, with Nels, and keep forgetting that he's not on the original album... (myself)
  3. Here's my 'experience' last night. I read some comments on the webcast thread, so I thought I'd use some of them to start off thanks echo... there wasn't anything 'angry' about it, Jeff was smiling, the rest of the audience was laughing, it was funny. is it indeed...!? Jeff wasn't moody last night, in fact, he was more relaxed and more smiley than usual (for London?). He made a reference to past 'problems' in London, but he's done so many shows since that 'incident', I wonder if he'll ever get over it. The last show I saw him at was his solo show which was also at the Empire, and he was

Jeff made a reference to past 'problems' in London, but he's done so many shows since that 'incident', I wonder if he'll ever get over it. The last show I saw him at was his solo show which was also at the Empire, and he was very chatty, the audience loved him, he seemed to have a great time.... "Jeff, it's in the past!" I think what happened in "Muzzle" was he simply forgot the words for a second... possibly because of the chat going into the song, but he just laughed it off, not moody in the slightest. The show
  5. It'd be difficult (for me) to come up with 2 more different guitarist than Dave Gilmour and Nels.... but then Nels is fairly unique...!!
  6. I bought the 'Special Deluxe Edition' (in the uk) with the DVD, thinking that if there were any extras, they'd be included..... .... I haven't got anything 'enhanced' either! Seems a little unfair
  7. my tickets are for 20th and 21st (Sunday and Monday)... I haven't seen anything to suggest otherwise....
  8. correct... IF you go to the Shepherd's Bush tube that's on the central (the red one) line, but there's another Shepherd's Bush station on the 'Hammersmith & City Line', which is about as close as the other one. BUT, confusingly enough, the nearest station is Goldhawk Road, also on the Hammersmith & City Line. There's not much difference in the distances, but depending on where you're coming from, one 'line' could be a lot easier than another.... there's a map here Shepherd's Bush is full of fairly cheap B&B/hotels, but can be a little rough. It's also very close to Holland Park, w
  9. I was watching the film again the other day, and it reminded me how much Jeff has changed. It was almost as if the moment Jeff and Jay split, was when Jeff started to look happier. I read a review of SBS the other day, that was almost complaining that because Jeff is happier, more content (and healthier), he's lost some kind of edge. I like how SBS is the sound of a content person.
  10. I wonder if this means different sets each night. I know the set usually gets mixed up a bit, maybe this'll be more mixed up than usual..... .... hope so, as I'm going both nights...
  11. thanks for that. I missed them being on Jool's that time.... what was I doing?? it's a good version of War On War, and it brings it home how much they've changed since then... assuming they'll do a couple of tracks off SBS, I wonder which 2. Walken (why is it spelt like that?) and maybe What Light??... On & On & On would be cool
  12. exactly my thoughts when I saw the cover... RS is a very sad shell of what it used to be..
  13. thanks everyone for the advice, and for re-assuring me that I'm not a complete klutz.. or maybe we all are?!?! as I said, I've written to nonsuch and the publishers, so I'll wait a few days or so and then follow up some of the other ideas you've given.. thanks
  14. My wife bought me The Wilco Book not long ago, and I just got 'round to (try to) listen to the cd that came with it. I tried pushing the button of the clip holding the cd, I tried easing it out slowly, but it's snapped! I've emailed nonsuch and the publishers, but haven't heard anything back yet. I know I could download the music, but considering how expensive it was, it would be nice to have the real thing.... ... any ideas?
  15. I seem to remember having trouble playing my 'Ghost' bonus cd. I e-mailed nonsuch about it, and it was something to do with my settings in quicktime. I'm at work at the moment and can't access my old e-mails (not even sure if I still have it...). ermmm... not much use am I? (at least you're not alone)
  16. there aren't many people I'd want to see 2 nights on the trot (I used to do it for The Who...when Keith was around..), but chances of doing this (especially outside of america) don't come around very often, so ... some things just have to be done!!
  17. omg!! Muzzle is such an amazing song/piece of music/work of art.. the lyrics bring tears to my eyes: And dogs laugh, some say they're barking I don't think they're mean Some people get so frightened Of the fences in between And the sun gets passed from tree to tree Silently, and back to me With the breeze blown through Pushed up against the sea Finally back to me and Nels' solo on that video, it's tooo good, ta very muchly
  18. thanks to this site, I've got tickets for London... I've subscribed to the Wilco mailing list, thinking I might be alerted to shows like this, and maybe even have a chance to any pre-sales. I realise that pre-sales aren't particularly necessary in London, so long as you actually know about the shows, and when tickets go on sale, but there's been next to no info on these shows, and the best tickets for the Empire (the first balcony... the standing (GA) tickets are good if you're right up at the front, otherwise, due to the low stage, it's almost impossible to see anything on the 'floor') seem
  19. maybe they'll be back later in the year. These few shows tie in with the release of the album, so maybe this is just a 'promo' type jaunt, so they can return after the album has made the impact it should/might have.... maybe... I got to work this morning, and someone was playing in the distance (but quite loudly) DorisDay singing Que Sera Sera... what an apt start to the day I thought...
  20. errrmm... quite small... why?
  21. but the Shepherd's Bush Empire is one of the smallest, intimate gigs in London. Unless you're holding out for a 'living-room' show, you'll be lucky to get anywhere smaller..
  22. the Paradiso (with it being in Holland like... see Pulp Fiction... ) used to have a stall selling dope and ready made joints!! Not sure if it still does, but you're never far from a 'coffee shop' in the low lands...
  23. The Bataclan is an old dance hall, about 1,000 - 1,500 capactiy (with dodgy electrics about 25 years ago.. ). The Paradiso is an old converted church with a lovely stained-glass window behind the stage, about 2,000 capacity (I think). Shepherds Bush Empire is an old BBC theatre with 3 balconies, about 2,500 capacity, lovely venue... I want to go them all!!!
