  1. Can anyone suggest some cool pedals to investigate for a mostly rhythm electric guitar player? Many of the pedals I have seem to shine best for soloing which I am rarely doing these days (eg, prunes and custard, etc). Just looking for some stuff to check out so any suggestions would be appreciated. I've got a boss distortion pedal, boss compression pedal, and an mxr delay in addition to the p&c. Thanks all!
  2. My kids are 5 and 2 and it's either Beatles or Beatles. As it should be.
  3. Desperately trying to make it through a day while only saying "beer" and "thank you." So far, no luck.
  4. Awesome, Anthony! Cant think of anyone who deserves a Tweedy solo show than you! Thanks for all the tabs.
  5. Couldnt agree more. Then he repeats it 3-4 times as if he keeps ordering. He's one of a kind. I cant get past the first song to really listen to the rest of the album closely because that opening track is so stunning.
  6. Sorry, I dont. But if you search for the title on google, it will come right up. I ordered it. Will report back. Saw Califone last night. Sort of. 3/4ths of the band was missing (i.e., replaced). It was a good show because the songs are great, and Tim is great, but there was really something missing. I don't know. Califone is Tim's baby to do with as he sees fit, but it just wasn't the same without Becker, etc. Had to fight off the blues during the show at some points when I thought the drummer was not subtle enough, or the fiddle/banjo wasnt there. Will (?) is definitely talented
  7. I'm late-ish to the sic alps party. Just saw they broke up last month and that Mike is putting out a solo album. Bummer. One of the best live shows I've seen in awhile. Any other Sic Alpians?
  8. Thanks. Does the Stitches vinyl come w a cd or mp3 download?
  9. I just stumbled across a reference to a documentary from a couple of years ago. Made a Machine by Describing the Landscape. Anyone seen it? Is it worth 20 bucks?
  10. There's a lot of talk on the interwebs about what a douchey move this is by Columbia/Dylan. Similar to what they did with Tell Tale Signs for the bonus CD. Of course, that bonus CD was priceless. I am trying not to focus on the merits/morality of this decision and what input (if any) Dylan had. It wont solve my dilemma.
  11. ahhh, the prunes and custard. A mandatory pedal for any self-respecting Wilco fan. In all seriousness, I dont know how you'd even get to half of those pedals while playing.
  12. too steep for me too, and yet, the rationalizing has begun...
  13. Anyone get the deluxe 4 cd version of Another Self Portrait? Its a bitter pill to swallow at $100 but I am considering it...
  14. Spot on. The smaller body means you lose a bit of thickness (i assume that's the reason) but it is sharp as a knife. Really bright and articulate as you say. I love it so far but not sure this is a good guitar to have if you only have one. It's a nice complement to my others. And it's really beautiful. A conversations starter for sure, not that that's what I look for in guitars.
  15. I think the ricin is for Jesse and Walt had hair in the first scene (ie last scene). Hair = no cancer.
  16. David Bowie's Song for Bob Dylan from Hunky Dory
  17. Man this thread is awesome. Here is my newest baby. Gibson Century of Progress. Remake of the 1935 guitar. It's an Elvis Costello signature guitar, and while I love the man, I wish I didnt have to pay up for the name. Still, it sounds great, red spruce top, maple sides and back, and pearloid fingerboard (!) Anyone ever see or play this guitar?
  18. NYC and Brooklyn were great shows. The new songs sound great and everyone is in for a treat when the album drops in sept. Especially movie music kills a kiss and Moses. Amazing that Tim can still be coming out with new stuff that sends chills. Both set lists were pretty similar but Brooklyn closed with a cover of the Stones' no expectations which was simply sublime. Tim asked how many people at the Brooklyn show had been there the prior night, and I was one of the 4 nerds to raise my hand. A great two nights.
  19. I will be at the NYC and Brooklyn shows and will report back. Can't wait!
  20. Hey buddy. Hope you are well. You didn't think I could stay away with a new Dylan album out there did you?
  21. Long and Wasted Years stops me dead in my tracks. Everything about it.
