Pretty good opening ceremonies... at least there was no talking dinosaur robots! I did get chills seeing Rick Hansen come in with the torch. Glad they chose multiple people too, it was the right decision. The technical problems were a tad disappointing but at least the cauldron came up and got lit, which is good considering it was possible that none of it could have worked, instead of just one arm. I don't know if Wayne was the right one to go through Vancouver and down to the Water Front to light the outdoor cauldron. Seeing the flame move through the city of Vancouver, all the recognizable

Doubt it. There are a LOT of free events going on.

I rewatched the season 5 finale the other night. At one point, as Jack is going to throw the bomb into the hole, Miles says something interesting, along the lines of "what if Jack doing this is 'The Incident'?". So if Jack threw the bomb down there and sunk the Island then that was clearly not "The Incident" we first heard Desmond talk about. So we still don't know what The Incident is... What sent them forward in time was either A) the drill, drilling into this "pocket" that unleashed some sort of energy and put them back in their proper time or B] the bomb unleashing whatever sort of energ

No, different Hansen but equally (if not more) awesome. I'd recommend reading up on him. I actually had the pleasure of meeting him once, great man. I really like how this has become a "who is your favourite Canadian" thread Maybe I should change the title to "Canada Thread" and the poll to "Greatest Canadian".

The "sista" ending of that actually made me laugh out loud.
-
Dammit, you got me! I added Neil Young. I will add more if you guys suggest more! Horay!
-
Neil Young is the greatest Canadian of all time..... hmmm....

Anyone notice Mac from It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia as the guard?! I LOLed everytime he was on screen... secretly hoping Charlie and Dennis would appear. Enjoyed the episode, good to see Claire back, interesting to see her so much like Rousseau though. Obviously that first trap they found was Claires. Was Rousseau claimed like Claire?

With the Olympics only TWO days away, VANOC still hasn't announced who will light the cauldron. I wanted to get a global perspective on this, who do you guys think should light the cauldron? I think it will be Gretzky but in my opinion, it should be Trevor Linden.

Apologies if I posted this before but I know you will all love this... http://www.weebls-stuff.com/songs/Lost+Titles/

Luongo was also pretty amazing too. What goes around comes around. The Canucks played Montreal a few days ago and were the better team but Halak stood on his head, today the Canucks were outplayed for 40 minutes but still managed to win. The B's will get theirs.

Exactly! When I buy a guitar, especially if I spend a lot of money on it, the goal is always to hopefully buy a guitar I can own for a long, long, time... maybe one day give it to a son or something like that. But I wonder how all these Road Worn guitars will look/play in 30 years when they start off beat up and eventually get the real wear on them that you mentioned.
-
I was teasing my girlfriend the other night for buying jeans with holes already ripped in them. The next day I was looking at Road Worn Telecasters when I realized, it's essentially the same thing. I feel conflicted, they look so cool but they're pretty phony. What's everyone's opinion?

Mmmm.... Sedins don't show up. In fact the team doesn't show up till the third period. But the Canucks still beat the Bruins. Niiice! (Sorry had to brag to the B fans here ) Anyways, loving all these trades lately. It'll be interesting to see how Kovalchuk will do under Lemaire. I don't think the Devils would be the kind of team he'd sign with.

Did he do that to his Airline too?? I saw in "It Might Get Loud" that he did it to a Gretsch, and added a third pick up. Pretty cool stuff. I know Jack plays an Airline like that, usually with the Raconteurs, but I'd imagine he uses an original Airline, made of plastic, like red and white one from the White Stripes. To be honest I can't decide between an Airline Town and Country (Eastwood) and a Telecaster.

What! Shannon was the hottest person on that show... except maybe Claire but she's more "cute" than hot. Shannon, oh man.........

Ok! So! I guess we will not use spoiler tags for an episode that has already aired. Anyways, Sayid coming back from the dead was interesting. One of two things happened. Ben was shot (by Sayid... Sayid was shot by Ben's dad, hm) and taken by Richard to the temple where he "would never be the same", then he becomes the leader of the Others is all sorts of evil. So is Sayid now evil? Is he the leader of The Others? Or did Jacob want him taken to the temple, because he wanted to enter his body like his enemy entered Locke's dead body. That could be why the water was a different colour! Hm!

No one has said anything yet! Why? Perhaps that was a lot to take in and we all had to give it a bit. From Lostpedia...

Well jeeze, that was a tad rude.

Ok I've decided on my next three purchases!! Purchase 1: A Fender Blues Deluxe... tube.. tweedy... spring verb! Yes please. Soon after... purchase 2: And then I will save up some money to pay off my car... but then! Purchase 3 a Dynalap lap steel: Does anyone have experience with the airline and/or dynalap?

I try to play every day but to be honest, I can only play when I feel inspired. For the past two years I was rarely inspired but some point last summer something changed, now I usually try to at least pick up my guitar and strum some chords every day. I don't want guitar to ever become a chore to me, even if it makes me a better player.

I actually watched an episode of Jimmy Fallon last night. I thought it was pretty decent. Not as good as Conan or Craig but not bad!

I'd love to get a 8 string lap steel next. But honestly my next purchase has to be an amp. I'm thinking a Fender combo... nothing huge, I'd like to spend around 800 dollars. It has to have spring reverb. I'm thinking a Hot Rod Deluxe might be the best way to go.
