  1. I'm just going to go out and say it, that might be the best Weezer single since Island in the Sun. Too bad the rest of the album is so bad.

Dudes!!! You dudes!!! Molina and the boys have recorded a Day Trotter session, and yes... it is all sorts of good! Two new songs included and new arrangements of Dark Don't Hide It and entirely unrecognizable version of Trouble In Mind. Plus a medley of An Arrow in the Gale and Josephine! http://www.daytrotter.com/dt/magnolia-electric-co-concert/20030931-37382065.html One of those six albums is coming out soon, Molina & Johnson! You can download a song now. I'm about to pre-order. http://www.secretlycanadian.com/onesheet.php?cat=SC195
  3. Magnolia Electric Co's Josephine wins it for me. Both the Wilco and Andrew Bird albums I thought were good. I also listened to Dark Was The Night a lot this year. Pretty good stuff.
  4. Mikael Samuelsson: 11 games, 5G, 5A, 10 Points. Yeaaahhhh boooiii. Grabner is also doing well in his first callup, with 2 goals, 3 assists in 6 games. That Raymond - Kesler - Grabner line might just be the fastest in the league.
  5. Ok... but that doesn't really acknowledge pop-music duets. If it's just two singers singing together in unison then why isn't a Wilco song with a lot of John's backing vocals considered a duet?? A (vocal) duet is when two singers sing back and forth (usually with singing in unison saved for the chorus!!), such as "If I Were A Carpenter".
  6. A lot of people confuse "duet" with "harmony". Mozambique isn't really a duet, neither of them have their own lines. Same with the Wilco and Feist song. At least that's how I've always seen it. Anyways, Johnny Cash and June Carter had some good duets.
  7. Interesting that you say that. The Prettiest Girl was released on Rivers second solo/demo album. It dates back to 1997. Might explain why it is an enjoyable listen... but the full-band arrangement kills it for me (specifically the unneeded douchieness of the rhythm guitar). The melody and lyrics are classic Weez however. Actually, I'm going to go out on a whim here and say Rivers played it live when he was in school, during Weezer's hiatus. Yeah I was a big fan when I was a boy.
  8. I can't figure out just how they took a band song, Can't Stop Partying (see: the demo version from Rivers solo album) and somehow made it worst.
  9. This has leaked. I can't decide if Can't Stop Partying is the best thing Weezer has done in a decade or the worst.... Oh wait.. it's definitely the worst. EDIT: Listened to more of this. Not the best thing Weezer has done. Though, it's nice to see them have fun and not take themselves so seriously.
  10. I always thought it a pretty boring and maybe even a bit cheesy. Plus, since it's so close to Dreamer In My Dreams I always find myself wanting to skip ahead.
  11. The only song I could live without would be "The Lonely 1". Maybe it's just that I find that 1 to be so obnoxious.
  12. I would tell them to shove it. If that did not work I would submit this. 1. "Misunderstood" 2. "Far, Far Away" 3. "Monday" 4. "Outtasite (Outta Mind)" 5. "Forget the Flowers" 6. "I Got You (At the End of the Century)" 7. "Hotel Arizona" 8. "Sunken Treasure" 9. "Someday Soon" 10. "Someone Else's Song" 11. "Kingpin" 12. "(Was I) In Your Dreams" 13. "Dreamer in My Dreams"
  13. I'm listening for a fourth time in a row. I didn't like it after the first listen but a couple minutes later I found myself singing it! Good tune.
  14. Atlanta won't trade Kovalchuck. He's their franchise. If he doesn't resign you can bet that they're going to KHL. It'd be a mistake for the Bruins to make huge changes just cause of a slow start... you have to wait these things out. They're a good team, they'll figure it out.
  15. Dudes this is quickly approaching. This leaves just one question... which character is most deserving of their own spinoff?! I vote for Sayid. It could be a sitcom!
  16. Nothing in it should be that bad. Then again, I saw Predator when I was 5 years old and I had nightmares for a good 7 years after that (no lie). So it might depend on how well your child does with large, furry, monsters. What would bother me, if I had kids, would be what a downer film it is. Kids don't like sadness... do they? Personally, I'd take my kids to Zombieland, in case there is a Zombie apocalypse and I don't survive... you know, so they can figure out what to do.
  17. This was really bad. No one should take their child to see this movie, I can't see a kid liking this. In fact, I can't see anyone liking it. Nothing happens. It looks pretty good visually, but it's pretty much just 2 hours of character introduction and than the credits. Doesn't explain much of anything. Nothing is accomplished. Nothing is explained. It's as if they got a cool director, the chick from the Yeah Yeah Yeahs to write the soundtrack, and Tony Soprano and then didn't bother making the rest of the movie. Stay away.
  18. I believe that happened a few decades ago......
  19. Agreed, Boston shouldn't be losing to a team like the Islanders. Vancouver will do that all the time, one night they'll beat the easily Red Wings and then the next night they'll struggle against the Coyotes. You have to play each team with the same level of intensity. Just noticed that they also lost to the Avs though Maybe the Avalanche are a good team this year?! How'd Duchene look? Canucks are looking good without Daniel Sedin. Glad this injury happened this season and not a few years ago, as both Sedins are a lot more well-rounded now, Henrik especially has emerged as a true number on
  20. Probably George but you never know.... Bob's finger prints are all over that album and, for years, Clapton went uncredited on George's records (and vice versa, I believe).. so maybe Bob did too. Maybe...
  21. Depends where he goes with the lineup. If Alex Burrows and Anson Carter can get 30 goals with the Sedins, logic says Sammy should at least equal that.... Plus, I think he brings a lot more to the lineup than just points. Experience, grit, heart, he's more of a North American style player than European.
  22. Wilco has never played within 8 hours of my city. I'm allowed to bitch. Get off your high horse, man.
  23. Again, Vancouver only just as I predicted. I love Wilco but Jeff and the boys should be ashamed of themselves. And yeah, an outdoor show during the Olympics.. free no less? Great... Let's start a petition! A grass roots movement! Let's do it!
