  1. My first show was at the Greek in Berkeley, where there was a no-camera policy, so I left my camera at home. Major regret! The bag search at the entrance was lax. Everyone around me had their cameras out, along with their joints and pipes, and no one gave a shit. Both Tweedy shows at the Filmore I brought my camera along. I kept it in a make-up bag in my purse, and my purse was given only a quick glance. And once inside, all cameras were out. The only thing that sucks about the no-flash policy is that all my photos came out way blurry. I still have them saved, since they are still
  2. Conet Project was actually a compilation of recordings made by many, not just the one who collected them. There are four cds worth of recordings with broadcasts from all over the world in different languages, many with just tones and pulses. So person A records a number station of unknown origin five-ten years ago, shares it with person B who places it on CD for sale, person C digs sound and samples recording in a song, person B sues claiming the recording was his originally... B & C settle out of court (What does person A receive from settlement? )
  3. Was this the same show detailed in Learning How To Die? With Billy Bragg in the audience before he invites Wilco in on Mermaid Avenue?
  4. Black Eye New Madrid Fatal Wound Wait Up Watch Me Fall Gun
  5. I can say that about all the songs on my list, except for "We're Just Friends." That one can go.
  6. I remember that. I remember him saying that he sounded/or was turning into his father. I also enjoyed Jeff holding his gut and telling everyone he quit smoking.
  7. A.M.: Should've Been In Love / Just That Simple (sorry John) Being There 1: I Got You (at the end of the Century)/What's the world got in store Being There 2: Sunken Treasure/Why would you wanna live Summerteeth: She's a Jar/We're Just Friends (considering Wilco songs only-No Billy Bragg) Mermaid Avenue 1: Hesitating Beauty/Christ for President Mermaid Avenue 2: Airline to Heaven/Blood of the Lamb Yankee Hotel Foxtrot: Disqualified from being on list A Ghost is Born: Spiders tied with Theologians/Wishfull Thinking That was too hard. Agreed.
  8. Am I the only one bothered by the giant's very small hands?
  9. Is it too late to wish Jeff a Happy Belated Birthday? I sure hope not.
  10. Yankee Hotel Foxtrot is perfection. At least to my way of listening.
  11. I vote that they come play in my living room for me. Or just do one show in the Bay Area. Or So Cal, I'm used to the long drive south.
  12. Dear God! I wouldn't want that coming after me in the middle of the night! (sorry. love the music. maybe it was just shot at a bad angle.)
  13. Is there a video of that somewhere?
  14. I dated a guy named Rodger. Okay, that was a bit of a stretch. //got nothing
  15. Oh, Oh, Oh! I can't remember the name of the damn song! B52s??
  16. I believe the correct term is "Champaign Liberal"
  17. I'm 30, female. Grew up and lived in So Cal up until a year ago. I moved up to the Bay Area for no other reason beyond wanting to move, which is always the best reason. I have a degree in English/Creative Writing, which is put to little use in my current job with a nameless Cellular company in their regional office...unless you count all the blogs I have crafted on the sly while in the midst of "working." Don't tell anyone. I discovered Wilco through NPR. I remember it like it was yesterday... (cue flashback sequence!) I was driving home from work and listening to KCRW, and a story a
  18. I have a Nokia something-er-other (can't recall the model) which has a voice recorder feature. Anything I record with it, I can make my ring tone. I recorded several clips of Jeff singing at the Fillmore on this last night there, although they didn't come out to good. Also got Kip singing his Technology song and some other random crap. It's great fun. Love my phone.
  19. I used to think that Disc 1 contained the best song (I Got You) and that Disc 2 was the best overall, without any particular stand-out. Now I appreciate both equally, and just pop in which ever one fits my mood. Although squishing them onto one blank CD sounds like a good idea. By themselves, they're both a little short in play time.
  20. Almost all of Summerteeth. First time I heard it, all I could think was "what the fuh???" But by the second spin, I pretty much got into most of it. We're Just Friends still gets skipped over.
  21. I recorded the begining of Spiders onto my phone, and used that forever as a ring tone. When I get a call, I start rocking out and don't want to answer it.
