Hehe I love road trips, don't get me wrong! It's just that "getting somewhere" is easier and cheaper to fly! But if the road trip is a planned part of the fun, that's a different story

Just out of curiosity, Donna - why by car? If you calculate the fiscally estimated 0,30 € it costs to run a car per kilometer, you're at 1392,00 € ( ~ $ 1987,00) one way. Given that you also have to get the occasional motel room, I guess you could've bought quite some flight tickets for that money?

Um .... I think so. We have 20 and 21, and it is the most middle seats in the right section, so I guess 23 and 24 are a bit more towards the right

Frankfurt and Berlin for us, both front row right section towards the centre.

^^ Seconded.

We once made it to a queue way after him (he was the only one queueing at that time though), swapped to a different entrance, and still made it in before him. Oh and going to a gay bar with him is also fun. (sorry Paul, but when someone rules as much as you do, they gotta be prepared for an appreciation thread at some point )

Kate & Graham, sitting in a tree...
pillowy star replied to kidsmoke's topic in Tongue-Tied Lightning
Heartfelt congratulations, Kate & Graham! Welcome little Bea! And of course also congratulations to the big sister, Em -
You took the words right out of my mouth (apart from disagreeing on the song, for me it's "Oh my heart" that I think is really outstanding). I was having a hard time trying to put my feelings about CIN into words, but you just did it for me. I am quite sad about this though

Christchurch New Zealand Earthquake...
pillowy star replied to remphish1's topic in Tongue-Tied Lightning
I found the Kiwi accent very disturbing at first and couldn't understand a single thing. Now, we're trying to practice it at home! Dreeeeeeeeeeeeeeedful! The pictures of Christchurch are devastating. Thinking I've been walking along these now disturbed roads not even 4 months ago in white summer trousers and flip-flops makes me well up. It is such a quaint town with lots of beautiful buildings.......or has been -
Guess who this is (aka, suddenly, I feel old

I think Michael Stipe isn't aging well at all. He's seriously looking a LOT older than my Dad who's turned 70 last week. Not kidding. -
Agreed. I wish they would just finally get rid of these so-called "harmonies" *ouch* and let Michael's voice be Michael's voice instead of this so-called "Producer" re-working his vocals beyond recognition.

That'll be a very happy Birthday indeed

Picaresque of course.

Happy New Year to everyone! For us it can only get worse than 2010 which was awesome on so many levels, so I am trying to go into 2011 with absolutely no illusions.

What Christmas gift are you currently enjoying?
pillowy star replied to kidsmoke's topic in Tongue-Tied Lightning
Right at this present moment, I am having fun looking into the mirror and seeing what the night did to my radical new haircut (which was a xmas gift I gave to myself ). I look like a wild pixie with everything standing up On Saturday & Sunday, I will be enjoying the whole of Season 6 of "Deadliest Catch", which we started watching by chance in New Zealand, and I got so hooked after only one episode that Rob bought us the whole season on DVD as soon as it came out. Oh joy! -
Couldn't agree more. (not about the Live record though, which I don't have and don't intend to buy either)

Advice for the Wii: DDR or Just Dance or Other?
pillowy star replied to Beltmann's topic in Tongue-Tied Lightning
I find it highly confusing that people use the official name of the former communist part of Germany as an abbreviation for a dancing game. But well, it's Nintendo we're talking about, so................... -
If you ever plan to repeat this, let me know, and we'll be there as ticket office, B&B, travel guides, whatever you need. Spaghettieis will be guaranteed

Here is another article from the same newspaper, this time it's apparently the best band in the world *rolleyes*, I guess Wilco will never get the whole world behind them, no matter how fantastic they are: http://www.tagesspiegel.de/kultur/trost-und-ekstase/1944528.html

Sorry about the disrupted show, Paul. So it's indeed the band that doesn't want people to take photos anymore? Hm......
-
I hope that after this tour they'll rush back to GA venues. Can't believe how lucky we were in Offenbach! Grosse Freiheit in 2007
-
Erm............I could, but I won't, seeing as it is persisting it down. You obviously took the sun with you
