  1. Most. Hilarious. Artwork. Ever. Seriously, I can't remember laughing this hard for a long time.
  2. Stop it. NOW. I can't keep anything in anymore
  3. I was proud of myself for not spitting my pear juice all over the place whilst reading this thread, and "thanked" my dentist for drilling every single bit of humor out of me this morning. I made it this far in the end. :rotfl BeMyDemon will have to change the original lyrics now, there's no way around it. (Now if you could only work the "pillowy star" theme into it )
  4. You mean our collective attitude would be more compassionate, understanding and well-meaning? Well we've shown outpouring support in this thread to Jay prior to his lawsuit. Other than that, I can see a lot of your points, but that doesn't make Jay's move any more acceptable. I guess he is desperate, but no matter how desperate you are, there is always a line you do not cross. Especially when people have shown they want to help you out.
  5. Lifted is my favorite Bright Eyes album, I just love all the pain that he's transmitting in the songs & lyrics. Absolutely wonderful.
  6. I don't think it's gonna happen, but there will be other ways to support Jay. And who knows.............stranger things have happened indeed.
  7. I don't know exactly how much of Jay Bennett and how much of Jeff Tweedy is actually in "Summerteeth" (and specifically "Via Chicago"), but I know that my life changed drastically to the better because of this album. If there is anything we can do to support Jay in making his life change to the better, please let us know. We're here to help. Yes, about the benefit show - Wilco headlining it would be the logical dream, but if personal reasons prevent it from happening, I am sure there are other ways for people who are willing to help this talented musician out. Keep us posted please.
  8. Have you tried it on eBay? Other than that, I don't think we advertise ticket brokers in this forum.
  9. Dear Bea , hope you have a birthday as special as you are. I cannot wait to see you next month, and share some secrets, drinks, Spanish specialties & laughter Much love, Dunja
  10. I've stopped watching LOST when the island started to move backwards/forwards/sidewards/upwards/downwards/whateverwards in time. I'm sorry, but I honestly do not believe that anyone can still catch up with the constant flashbacks, and I also don't believe that anyone is still able to tell in which year the characters are at each stage of the episodes. The storyline is beyond ridiculous meanwhile, and although I do believe that my IQ is usually high enough to follow such series, I found myself asking at least 10 times per episode ".....oh Locke is NOT dead then?!" or "....oh they're three years
  11. I guess it might be some sort of "safety blanket" issue. If he still got stage fright, he might use those particular items of clothing as mental crutch because he feels comfortable in them.

  13. R.E.M. - Nightswimming & Everybody Hurts (due to very personal reasons) Wilco - Via Chicago (Jeff's broken voice at the end just plain kills me) Wilco - Let Me Come Home (see above) Five for Fighting - The Riddle Roddy Woomble - My Secret Is My Silence Jay Bennett - Curiosity City - Am Fenster and many more I can't remember right now.
  14. North Spain in May/June, and hopefully Dominican Republic sometime in October/November.
  15. I'm late to this, but I'd still like to reply. My 2 cents: You're only feeling this kind of overwhelming, never-before-felt love that is undying whilst everything else fails in comparison because you haven't settled with that person!! Trust me, being with someone who's either an addict and/or mentally ill kills every single bit of love inside you once you have to share your life with them full stop.
  16. I was alone on my first full Wilco gig, and totally loved it. Same with Nick Cave. I like not having to make compromises with someone else about the "when" we go, the "how long do we stay afterwards" etc., but decide it on my own. Since I know my husband, I prefer to go with him to going on my own though. And before I knew him I had a really good friend who I also loved to go with, because we had the same opinions about the a.m. mentioned questions.
  17. I think I saw R.E.M. between 40 and 50 times (lost count at some point), and I am planning on catching up with Wilco. As for other artists, I try to see as many as possible, and not many more than once.
  18. Well I 've seen REM in much smaller venues (150 and 800 people) when they played regular shows, and that was just more exciting than them playing songs they had never played before; songs I wasn't too excited about anyway. Plus I hate Dublin with a passion, and after a day of unsuccessfully trying to get any decent public transport in pouring rain, no taxis neither, so we had to walk miles of filthy wet roads, I wasn't exactly in the best mood to be precise. Yeah, he literally raped "The River" into something unrecognizeable far from the beautiful mellow song it normally is and should be.
  19. LOL That's exactly the reason why I am never, ever gonna attend a BJM show. My husband is a big fan, thinks they are totally brilliant live and showed me a live DVD as an appetizer . I watched the first 20 mins of it, which consisted of Anton holding a monologue that consisted of "f*ck", "f*cking", "f*cker" and took YES exactly 20 mins. I honestly can't understand why anyone still goes to their shows. People should be paid smart money for it. My "bottom" 3 acts: Bruce Springsteen w/the Seeger Session Band in Cologne, 2006 - I was literally bored to tears and completely nerve-wrecked by th
