  1. I came here because this was the only place where I could talk about Wilco without getting either "huh? Wilco WHO?" or "Gaaaaaaawd they're so OVERrated!", not to mention "eeeww Jeff Tweeeeeeeeedyyyy?? Michael Stipe is SO much hooooottteerrr!!!?!???!?!?!?" as a response. I realized very quickly that Wilco fans are about the nicest in the world............trust me, I've made my experiences with fans from other bands, and they all seem to have a law that goes something like "the more often you've seen the band, the more pretentious, rude & ignorant you have to become towards newer fans tha
  2. Thanks for the post. I had read it back then, but always wanted to read it again. Couldn't find it, so I am glad it's out there again.
  3. IMHO, his best work so far. Gonna go see him in Offenbach, as it's only 20 mins away from us.
  4. I remember the times when you went to a show and had to wait 2 days before you read about it in the local newspaper. Noone was talking about it being taped back then. How old does that make me?!?
  5. *fingers crossed for some proper shows, I l-o-a-t-h-e festivals*
  6. More Like The Moon. *joins Bea in killing herself*
  7. Not in my name, excuse me, Sir. I like to be asked before someone assumes that something is happening in my name. Thank you. One reason why Jay shouldn't be back with Wilco is that we might not get any more Jay solo stuff then.
  8. Yes. My husband is from Britain and introduced me to some fantastic stuff, including the IT Crowd, My Family and Only Fools And Horses. I love all of them equally
  9. Thanks, that should make me at least not totally dread it anymore
  10. high-speed internet? Nope, need it for work premium movie channels? Anytime, we haven't got them and never will. Cinema is so much better anyway. Cable TV? We have a good old Satellite dish which offers more channels than we have the time to watch Bottled water? Nope, I hate tab water Cell phones? Nope, need it for work $2+ coffee? I never buy coffee anywhere other than with a McDonalds meal every 3+ months Concert tickets that cost more than $30? Depends on who's playing
  11. We've got tickets for Frankfurt. Not my choice spending money on him though Oh well, hope he'll put on a better show this time with the E-Street band than he did last time with the Seeger Session Band or however they were called.
  12. The **** Tryp Lazaro is right next to the Congress Center in Santiago
  13. Woohoo!! Donna!! Tom!! Jesus Christ, that is freaking awesome!! I do remember from our wedding (has that been really 2,5 years ago? Blimey ) how much he was into that stuff, and I am so pleased for him that it now has happened! Congratulations Tom, you've made your Mum really proud, and you will do brilliantly!!
  14. I'm 1/4 Hungarian Gipsy if that helps? I've got absolutely nothing in common with them though, can't understand any of their lifestyle and kind of stay away from them, so I am probably not a good example

  16. I frequently flew Ryanair from Stansted to Newquay (UK) because it was the only affordable way to get to my husband when he was still living in the UK. Always dreaded those flights because the planes are old, the staff is completely untrained, the audience is.............hm..................let's just say takes getting used to, and the extra fees (esp. for luggage) are a disgrace. Rob and I wanted to fly from Luton to Dublin in Summer 2007 coming from another flight with another low-budget airline which thought that as long as both our suitcases didn't exceed the double weight limit, it was fi
  17. Yes I thought he might have been involved in this particular lyric and therefore think he somehow owns the rights to use it, but still, it is a very distinctive phrase that you unlike e.g. "this and that" won't find anywhere else, and definitely can't "just" write it accidentally, so yes, it seems odd and uncalled for IMHO.
  18. I like the album very much, and I mean very much, but what I find seriously disturbing and kind of off-putting is that he had to go and mention "Pillowy Stars" as well as "Cracked Door Moons" in "Little Blue Pills". Kind of a cheap shot if you ask me, and totally unworthy of his undoubtful talent.
  19. Seriously, nothing could be better than celebrating our anniversary with some nice Wilco around it (My parents were almost part-time residentials of San Sebastian, Bea, they went there that often during the late 90s!) End of May roll on! In need of some serious girlie time here (ok ok with hubbies )!!
