Go against the war > lose advertisers > newspaper folds

I remember seeing that photographer thing a long time ago. I don't recall that it's fake, though.

I love my bike, despite flying over the handlebars the other day and bashing my face. Miraculously, I was fine; at the same time, I almost busted my face. I ride it to work most days.

I live in San Diego. There's definitely lots of fun stuff to do here. On the plus side, too, living in Jersey won't seem that much different expense-wise.

And the Bush Admin made no effort to distinguish between having reservations about going to war and spitting on soldiers.

I believe you can also Option-click any link on a mac and it will download it automatically to your specified location. If option doesn't work, try the keys next to it. One of those does the trick so you don't have to click "Save as..." every time.

In my hometown, people have campaign-type plastic signs on their front lawns that say "Thank You, President Bush."
-
It's possible that I might've thought about this stuff a few (too many) times.

Agree 1,000,000,000%.

I don't find that hard to believe at all. I'd imagine that Bush was the kind of spoiled kid who thrived on any kind of attention, good or bad. That kid became our President.
-
W mainly, but H.W. was pretty damn bad too. I think it's safe to assume that he meant the Clinton admin, though you make a good case. Maybe you should sign up to be McCain's press secretary (jkjkjkjkjkjkjk). How much further can his credibility drop? This guy was paid to lie when he worked for Bush.

First and foremost, it was Rove's use of religion to divide us, to pound into our brains that liberals can't be Christians. Of course he said "15 years." If reality won't allow Republicans to love Bush, they will try to bring Clinton down to Bush's level. I still don't think it's possible to determine whether Clinton was a "good" president by historical standards, but McClellan's assertion is just another form of propaganda. To me, it sounds like he's already doing damage control. In my mind, this only proves what I've known all along: these assholes in the Bush administration are

Dunkin Donuts Pulls Rachel Ray Ad because...
owl replied to remphish1's topic in Tongue-Tied Lightning
Jesus Christ. Few things bother me more than those who thing that Muslim = terrorist. Not to mention the sheer number of Dunkin Donuts owners who seem to be Middle Eastern. These days, I'm surprised when the employees/owners of any given DD are anything but Middle Eastern. -
Since when is the Press Secretary supposed to do anything but tow the line? Rove is such a dick. I credit him for dividing this country to its current point. We've been 50/50 on elections for some time, but there is a huge amount of hatred out there and it's all Rove's doing.

It's also funny how Perino says "Scott [McClellan], we now know, is disgruntled about his experience at the White House. For those of us who fully supported him, before, during and after he was press secretary, we are puzzled. It is sad -- this is not the Scott we knew." I can't believe that any WH press secretary under Bush wouldn't either be the most cynical person in the world or just an all-around terrible person. If I were Scott, Snow, or whomever, I'd leave office thinking "Thank Christ I don't have to walk the line between truth and lies with the American people anymore. That was the

I really doubt that. By the way, when I said "I like how Perino called his effort 'self-serving, disingenuous and unprofessional,'" I meant it sarcastically. As in, "I like how everyone on my street thinks their dog needs to poop in my yard." Interesting point.
-
Scott's a hack, just like the rest of them. Maybe he's trying to redeem himself; my personal opinion is that he stands to make a lot of money by telling his side of the Bush freakshow. It doesn't surprise me at all, though, that someone in the Bush camp would tell all when a few $$ are stuck under his nose. What better way to define the past 8 years of U.S. administration? I like how Perino called his effort "self-serving, disingenuous and unprofessional." It may very well be true, but what she said is still pretty much code for "WTF?! People who aren't loyal get called names!"

I have seen Joan of Arc and various incarnations about 15 times inc. Owls (no relation to my screen name) since 1999. The last show was Make Believe a couple of years ago. One of the loudest shows I've ever seen was some Kinsella band opening for Joan of Arc opening for MakeBelieve. All told, it was Kinsella on stage 3 times. I may have suffered permanent hearing loss from that show. I'm actually in the process of starting a JOA archive on Owl&Bear. It will be a while before that comes to fruition, though.

I've been listening to a lot of Europe '72 lately.

I don't think there really is a contest here. Bob Dylan.
