  1. >but its a good pop song...or are people not into that sort of pedestrian shit anymore? truly good pop songs are great, but i'm just not a fan of HMD. -justin
  2. absolutely agree. i wish i'd thought to say HMD myself. i fuckin' hate that song. -justin
  3. overrated: "ELT", "Nothingsevergonnastandinmywayagain" underrated: http://forums.viachicago.org/index.php?showtopic=30100 -justin
  4. >I think positioning it between Hate it Here and Walken was a perfect fit actually. and i think anyone that has posted here with positive things to say about the song is a genius of the highest order. i bet some of you guys are the same ones that posted in a thread i started after the album leaked, a thread in which i wondered where the love for this song was. -justin
  5. > If they just would have substituted LNGCA for Leave Me.. ...i'd be less happy with the record. -justin
  6. hmm, your pictures look a lot like mine. well, next time Wilco comes to Richmond or Tidewater, we should all together for drinks or something. -justin
  7. >The most underrated song on SBS in my opinion... 100 percent agree. it's always been one of my favs. i hope to hear it live one day as well. when did Jeff say that? -justin
  8. hey Greg! we definitely need to do that soon. i've just been extremely busy recently with traveling, work, family stuff, etc. i'd still love to do it though...and soon too! i must have passed by you at the NorVa show too! i did get to talk to Tweedy about the new album after the C-ville solo show. he was very kind/generous. RAIN DOG, you must have been right beside me at that NorVa show. i got front row too...and i saw John walk by the window of the restaurant. we must have been right together! i've seen several shows there since and apparently, you only have to drink now to get an
  9. >I would love a solo show or a Wilco show. I wish they would play the Norva again. I've been a Wilco fan for 5 years and the Norfolk show back in 2004 was the only show I've been to. It's time for another one!!!! that was my first Wilco show. the first time i met Tweedy too. it was a GA show, so i got there extremely early (not knowing about their early entrance policy through the restaurant). anyway, Tweedy was walking down the street several hours beforehand. i stopped to say hi and shake his hand, but foolish me, i didn't get a pic or autograph from him. i didn't even know how t
  10. i didn't know there was more than one Richmonder on the board! The National is going to be where it's at...being as how they are going to be booked in tandem with The NorVa and because it's a historic theater with great acoustics. that's basically the type of place that Wilco plays these days. where do you live at DBoon? -justin
  11. >Question for folks... the title "You Are My Face"... usually somewhere within a song you hear the title, but not on YAMF, it's not mentioned. Where do you think the title comes from? the same place Dylan got "4th Time Around." -justin
  12. >5. all of AM agreed on that one as well. -justin
  13. >Those are some pretty HARSH words there, Justin, dontcha think?!? it did hurt to type them, but i've thought the exact same thing though, so i didn't want to cheat myself. in regard to a song not having to be deep to be good: of course i agree. for example, i love "I'm A Wheel," but HMD man...just can't stand that one. -justin
  14. so far i've heard: "Either Way," "You Are My Face," "Sky Blue Sky" and "The Thanks I Get." what's the 5th one? -justin
  15. i'm thinking you'd better just go ahead and get another copy? -justin
  16. that's pretty much exactly how i feel. what the fuck was Jeff thinking when he wrote those dumb lyrics anyway (re: HMD)? people seem to love it at shows too... i hate "The Late Greats" slightly less, so this guy is spot on. i really hate it when it comes up on YHF, every other note of which i love with all my heart. i'd much rather listen to the drone on "Less Than You Think." -justin
  17. well, it happened to "Handshake Drugs." also, Jeff said it would definitely be on the next album. -justin
  18. >i really hope a studio version of lets fight comes out i'm thinking it will on the next record...along with "The Thanks I Get," which might even be a different version. throw in "Glad It's Over" and we there's a good chunk of the album. :-) let's hope what they said was true! -justin
  19. >I agree...everyone's entitled to not like it, but it's a bit ignorant to come on a Wilco forum and condescend on people like that. "Go play your Eagles >too" isn't a valid criticism, imho. SBS deserves a bit more thought, even if you don't happen to like it. it's simple enough. those that don't like SBS simply don't know anything about music. -justin ps: does anybody find the "jerkit" smiley to be vaguely disturbing on a coupla different levels?
  20. yes, but i don't feel that way. that's kinda the way opinions work. -justin
  21. i love it with all my heart as well and have from the very first. i'm pretty sure it's my favorite Wilco album. -justin
  22. whatever. i agree with this one: http://www.popmatters.com/pm/music/reviews...o-sky-blue-sky/ -justin
  23. is the only Wilco album that i don't own, b/c i really don't care for it. sorry guys! -justin
