  1. of course it's Anodyne. i really can't stand A.M. anyway... -justin
  2. >I love both of those songs. Do you have problems with intimacy? back it up there buddy. i never said i disliked either of those songs. please don't put words in my mouth. -justin
  3. somewhere down the line, we'll see a box set and i feel pretty good about certain tracks being included. for example "Not For The Season" and "Cars Can't Escape"/"Rhythm" (I mean CCD literally saw an un-official release via the Internet). maybe a known killer track like "Venus Stopped The Train." in combination with some of the bonus CD material, B-sides, the Wilco Book stuff, maybe some new stuff, etc. you got yourself a box set. God knows when, but you know it's gonna happen. -justin
  4. well, i remembered someone saying that "Patient With Me" made them uncomfortable what with Jeff's very personal lyrics and the intimate, voice-cracking performance. i somewhat agreed, but if you are going to say this about any song, i really feel that "Let Me Come Home" fills that role. -justin
  5. i'm talking about the Amos House Collection, Volume 3 version...i think it's the same one that's on the YHF Engineer Demos. -justin
  6. no "Leave Me (Like You Found Me)" yet...damn! -justin
  7. after a couple of listens, it's really growing on me. i've been a long-time WS fan though, so... anyway, i finally get to see them next month for the first time. very exciting that they'll be playing their new stuff! -justin
  8. umm...actually, Jim James doesn't have that "indie" voice you go on so much about. his voice is quite wonderful. favorites songs: One In The Same Can You See The Hard Helmet On My Head? Lay Low One Big Holiday Master Plan Anytime Wordless Chorus Gideon -justin
  9. sell-out? is that a valid argument or is just an excuse for all the lame-ass scenester kids to stop liking a band if they become too well known. you know, 'cause obscurity = relative worth and all that. i'm going with the latter. who gives a shit if they license their music? i hope more people are exposed to it. -justin
  10. >wreck myself funny that it turned out to be "ride myself." the first time i heard the studio version, i was like "what?" i dunno, i love TTIG, but it still sounds unfinished to me. mind you, this hasn't kept me from playing the song about 20 times since i got the studio version. :-) -justin
  11. so, i was in love with live versions of these songs, ya know? after listening to the studio versions of each a handful of times, unfortunately, i'd have to rank them with the versions of the SBS songs on the bonus DVD. that is, good stuff, but not quite "finished" enough for the album. perhaps they recorded them around the same time as the DVD, and then decided not to continue working with them? -justin
  12. >hahahaha. I love FG or Simpsons quotes used in perfect context. that's a particularly cromulent point. i feel the same way. -justin eta: oh yeah...are you sure it was a studio "Is This The Thanks I Get"? i mean, it definitely exists, as it is recorded and scheduled for the next record.
  13. [nerd[mp3 pretty much is mp4 unless you use a very high bit rate mp3[/nerd] i care about sound quality because i enjoy music. so what? -justin
  14. not sure if anyone answered your question Embarcadero, but "Is This The Thanks I Get?" was recoreded, but instead of being any sort of B-side or bonus track, they are putting it on the next album, which, if what they say is true could be out between a year and a year and half. it's an exciting time to be a Wilco fan, ya know? -justin
  15. come on. please. i'm not installing itunes just to hear it. i wouldn't want one of their crappy .mp4 files anyway. i'm still a big fan of VBR .mp3s or lossless. i still want the song in decent quality regardless. i mean i've already bought pretty much every officially sanctioned Tweedy/Wilco product and i've even got the live version of the song on lossless boots. i just want a decent rip to listen here, ya know? i'm not Tony Soprano or anything over here. -justin
  16. i don't have oink either. someone should really upload an .mp3 copy of this song. what's the hold up? i'll post something else really rare in kind. -justin
  17. not if you don't have a turntable. someone should really upload the .mp3...i've searched all the torrent sites i know. PM me? :-) -justin
  18. >i thought that was supposed to be in the Paste interview, which i've yet to find... oh yeah. my bad. -justin
  19. i thought he was supposed to talk about meeting Dylan at Bonaroo '04. was that a different interview? -justin
  20. >Calling baab.... did you see the dancing queen reference???? yeah. methinks there is something to that. -justin
  21. i liked it alright at first, but it steadily became one of favs from that album. -justin
  22. >Aside to notdarkyet: Is your favourite album by everybody always their latest album? If so, don't you find that, uh, odd at all? nope. now, why would you say that? all i said was that SBS is my favorite. -justin
  23. let me just jump in and say that as far as piano-based songs, or songs in general "Venus Stopped The Train" is the obvious choice... -justin
  24. yeah, i like it, but i can see why they dropped it. on a semi-related note, i think LNGCA, Let's Fight and ITTTIG all could have been on the record. -justin
  25. i hate to be the first one to say this: but i rarely listen to it. i'm all about YHF and everything thereafter. SBS is probably my favorite one. -justin
