  1. "War on War" might just be on the Yankee Hotel Foxtrot engineer demos boot, which is different... -justin
  2. well, i hadn't seen anyone point it out...but then again i'd haven't read every post since the album was streamed! i know...isn't that crazy? don't let Jeff try to pass it off as a new song. :-) -justin
  3. "Hate It Here" was played once way back in 2003 as "You're Really Gone" at a Tweedy solo show (5/16/03). lyrics to this version: I did the dishes I mow the lawn I try to stay busy But you're still gone I check the mail Now I watch the phone I talk to your mom She says you're not home You're really gone You're really gone I drive my car I walk around the block I ring your bell -justin
  4. i really feel like that one is kinda obvious. the ashtray is full of cigarettes so the person was up all night worrying/smoking. clever as hell though. i always liked it myself. -justin
  5. also, isn't the lyric actually "and your afternoon. and i've been puking"? i had always thought it was "mid-afternoon" myself. -justin
  6. sometimes lyrics aren't mean to convey the actual meanings of the words, but more the feelings and emotions in your subconscious that immediately resonate. it's called impressionism. -justin
  7. yeah, well, since oink is invite only, it's about time someone did a yousendit of the new rip, ya know? -justin
  8. strange lyrics are often the best. i say that b/c i'm a huge Dylan fan too, i guess. -justin
  9. unless you watch I Am Trying To Break Your Heart. -justin
  10. long live the Dylanpool. sorry...couldn't help myself. hey mende! -justin
  11. it is a b-side for version 2 of the "A Shot in the Arm" single. it sounded like a studio recording to me, but i rarely listen to it, so i guess i could be wrong. did they use the live version as the B-side? -justin
  12. i heard that the only rips that circulate are from the crappy stream and that nobody has uploadead an actual rip yet. interesting, huh? -justin
  13. i can't see anyone not liking it either. it was one of my favs back when i was listening to the live debuts. the only complaint is that i think the live versions had more bite to them. combine this with that partial Tweedy interview that was posted yesterday where he said the live versions of the song were going to kick ass and you gotta wonder what happened... -justin
  14. the last three for me for sure. i love Summerteeth dearly, but i don't really care for AM or Being There, excepting a few songs that is. -justin
  15. just wondering: is the only circulating version the transcode/stream rip or has someone seen an actual rip of the review copy? i know there was some debate...some were saying that the 256 and 320 kbps versions were still the stream...think they may have been right as i turned up the volume and heard a decent amount of hiss. any HELP would be greatly appreciated. -justin
  16. Bob Dylan is my favorite artist ever. Tweedy is second. i'm dying to read this! is paste an online mag or do you have to buy it in stores? -justin
  17. plus, i mean that "lack of disgust" is obviously "like we've discussed." that's a gross error. over the past couple weeks, i read a quote that said that all the reviewers that kept calling Wilco alt-country would be closest to the mark with this record. while that's true, SBS is definitely not even close to that kind of sound... -justin
  18. i know you! you are from the Dylanpool. i think that there is a CD rip out there though. i have a 320 kbps of "Impossible Germany" that was uploaded by someone...and I think it was uploaded before the first stream, though i could be wrong...
  19. if anyone PMed me a link to an actual CD rip, that would be much appreciated! best, -justin
  20. oh, it's been two years since i read the poem myself, i was thinking that it might give a good sense or theme at the very least... -justin
  21. to get a better picture, one might do well to read the poem with the title "Impossible Germany" in Tweedy's Adult Head. i think that is the title. i know a lot of the lines from A Ghost Is Born are in those poems... -justin
  22. also, it's definitely acceptable to call them b-sides. everyone does...probably b/c the circles we run in consist of music nerds who still refer to these things as albums. sometimes when i say album, people ask me if i mean a record... -justin
  23. i can't understand why nobody is talking about what a key track "Leave Me (Like You Found Me)" is. i love the entire album, but i'm thinking this one may be the most interesting tracks on the record. -justin
  24. isn't there a "devil nearly starts" or "definitely starts"...something something "heart" in Side With The Seeds? i don't see that in these lyrics... -justin
  25. i haven't sifted through all of this yet, but has anyone mentioned the cool way Jeff says "honestly" in "Leave Me (Like You Found Me." both times you hear this trippy pedal steel (?) behind him. it's in the rest of the song too. sorry, i'm used to spending most of my Internet time on a Bob Dylan board, so i get all specific like that sometimes. also, did anyone notice the 3 or so song title changes last night? -justin
