the whole Blackwater thing really scares me. I have been doing a lot of reading on them. Their connections with fundamentalist Christian groups and the Bush Admin is beyond disturbing. well....no hair tussles ensued today.....however, both Senator Durbin and Rep. Emmanuel seemed like genuinely nice people. It was interesting to watch the press and photographers get into action when Durbin was just chatting to some of the kids present. I had to get up early to make a run to Great Clips, as I had gotten a little shaggy. We made it down there a little early and talked to some nice people before it all started. Everything went well - when I got up to speak, I could feel my heart in my throat. I could feel myself and my voice shaking, and would start speeding up my words. W

I am still shocked someone reads my letters!! Thanks for the cheers guys! I just got another call from Durbin's office and they sent me the press release......I will only have 1-2 minutes, most of which I will emphasize the importance of the program within our own family - and how it covers INSANELY expensive prescription medication for Emily, we would otherwise be unable to afford. I will likely throw in a little political emphasis for good measure at the end.

Cuba is one of my favorite places on earth. I love the mountains in Pinar del Rio.....just amazing. I have spent a significant amount of time in the UK and loved it. Manchester was home to me there - but I LOVE the Lake District and Wales. Went to Ireland as young girl, but really want to go back. Also went to Paris when I was pretty young. Places I dream of traveling to? Afghanistan is top of that list....and then....Peru....Italy.....Russia.
