since it's a poll and you asked! i hate them. i honestly don't see the appeal about them. and the fact he's made out to be some saviour/genius pisses me off more. i tried listening to the album once & couldn't get through it. whew. i feel better!

matthew ryan - vs the silver state i love this album but cannot get into his other stuff. i should try again.

$100 - forest of tears. fantastic.

Bob, Neil etc......still relevant in 2009?

yeah, i wouldn't disagree with that. but not listening to newer stuff from an older artist because it doesn't stand up to their previous work seems weird to me. of course it won't be like the music they were making in their prime. unless it's truly horrible (like rod stewart's work post 1980) -

am i the only person on this board who just listens to music & doesn't care where it fits into the annals of music history? i guess i used to but it started to lessen my enjoyment of music. huh. -
i really enjoy garth brooks. maybe it's because i used to listen to him so much growing up i have such great memories of his music. i saw him live in 1997, maybe a week after dylan (in the same venue too). both played to make you feel my love. they couldn't have been different. that garth show was amazing too.

i haven't heard magic potion in a few months but from what i remember, the riffs are not there like previous albums.

-
bob dylan - live 1966 disc 2 wish i was there, if just for 'tell me momma'. how i love that version.

-

not entirely sure, but i think 6-8? maybe double that if there's two stages. it's been so long since i've been there i forgot. -
weird, i was thinking about downloading that last night. is it good? i downloaded his 2007 bridge school show & some 1975 or so show from minneapolis.

rodney crowell - sex & gasoline. so damn good.
-
bon iver - for emma
-
no shit, me either. now i totally hear it. thanks, jackass!
-
i could listen to for emma every day & not tire of it. it's becoming one of my fave albums ever. my fiance loves it too & she does not listen to 99% of the shit i do.
-
probably. i never listen to it.

huh, i don't think her voice is generic at all. i think it's beautiful. i love a rough voice but i also love a beautiful one (especially in a woman). i honestly get sick of lucinda's quite fast.
-
really? i want more of her singing. i love their duets honestly.
-
i think it's the lyrics on it. they seem quite, forced?, maybe.
