  1. ok, that's what i thought (about shelton's book). secret? about cynthia or whatever her name is? gooding?
  2. yeah, that is weird. it was written in '86
  3. wow. that sounds quite good. i'm excited.
  4. shelton is considered THE dylan biographer. wasn't he the first person to write about him in an NYC newspaper? in like '61? Heylin has a good book or two. though i think those are more focused on the basement tapes/band stuff?
  5. woodpigeon. finishing it up from yesterday. this is freakin' great but a bit too long. be nice if it were split up a bit.
  6. No Direction Home - Robert Shelton Down the Highway - author escapes me Dylan's Chronicle's is amazing too. i need to re-read that. Personally, i would start with those three. Maybe no direction home first?
  7. sooo good. can't wait for him to open for isbell next month. np: carolla podcast with DAG
  8. i like evil urges way more than Z. i think i'm the only person that does. i never got into that album entirely.
  9. dan auerbach - keep it hid finally loaded this onto my iPod. haven't listened in a couple weeks!
  10. riaa laying off 100+ people http://i.gizmodo.com/5162747/riaa-layoffs-...il-organization
  11. only heard a few albums from '09 but that album is high up. mama's eyes & someday i'll be forgiven are just killer songs. i'm a sucker for a great heartbreakin' country song. speaking of which: np - john prine - diamonds in the rough
  12. i've yet to hear vampire hands (i think). i hear about them all the time on the current though. and see their name in local music rags, etc. i'm severely out of touch with local music these days np: tom waits - alice i come back to alice & blood money more than any waits' stuff.
  13. joe henry - civilians probably my fave album of the last 2 years. at least the one i come back to the most.
  14. justin townes earle - midnight at the movies
  15. rodney crowell - sex & gasoline mmmm...so good. i need to get some older stuff.
  16. man, he & his dad have a way with slower songs. 'someday i'll be forgiven' is amazing.
  17. justin townes earle - midnight at the movies wow, this is fantastic. listened to it once this weekend while running errands.
  18. really? i love good. maybe my 2nd/3rd favorite song
  19. saturday's show in mpls was great. one complaint though, marc's mic was so much louder. my fiancee said the same thing & she isn't a music nerd like most of us. other than that, it was well worth it.
  20. i'm looking forward to this after reading that description. i loved warpaint. the crowes from now on will probably always be a bit more mellow. it feels like chris' solo stuff with a bit more rock. i'm ok with that.
  21. wow, that was absolutely horrible. i was hoping for something rocking or at least good. i was cringing. i could've sang that song better.
  22. he is starting a podcast sunday night, available monday morning. that should be interesting. uncensored, possibly drunk.
  23. apparently cbs canned a lot of people. annoying. they had great ratings (especially w/ affiliates). so they get canned for another top 40 bullshit station. FM talk doesn't work apparently.
  24. the show at the turf in october was pretty good but honestly, i like these united states way more & they were missing two members!
