streetlights has become, far & away, my fave song on the album & approaching my fave isbell song. he's a master of the reminiscing drunk in a bar.

first concert i ever saw was further fest 1995 (or maybe white zombie, i forget). the crowes headlined and tweedy & maybe a few others from wilco came out & sang 'willin'. i remember there were two stages & wilco was playing during dave matthews & no one would go with me! d'oh.

bob dylan - bootleg series vol 4, disc 1 that version of johanna is just stunning.

good point. descending is so different it almost seems like a different song.
