The Jayhawks (including Louris, Olson, and related)
mjpuczko replied to Analogman's topic in Someone Else's Song
i think of it more as an outdoor concert. considering the twin cities really doesn't get any (the zoo i guess & sometimes the minor league stadium). i'll gladly pay $75 to see the crowes/hawks/hold steady outside in minneapolis in the summer. -
tis only my 2nd or 3rd listen but i love it. definitely like it more than the new broken family. having troubles with that one for some reason.

$70 seems steep for a two day show? i don't think so at all. $35 a day is definitely feasible. especially for the jayhawks/crowes one night. -
that $100 album is great NP brakes - touchdown. love these guys so much.

good call on these united states. i'll have to listen to crimes again today. love that band (saw them open for blitzen trapper & i thought TUS were better)
-
i think it's fantastic! a few songs i'm so-so on but overall i love it.
-

me too. holy shit is this good. i've only heard AmAnSet - Know By heart. i loved that one. i should really go back & check out their other stuff. this is hypnotic.

yeah, that's prolly my fave dbt album but dirty south is the first dbt album i heard. i'll make it a priority to break those out soon :-)
-
i bet if i threw on dirty south, i'd listen to it every other day for a month. once it gets nicer out here i just may do that.
-
finishing up cory chisel & the wandering sons. probably work on our wedding cocktail hour music next.
-
i just love that country/soul/rock vibe isbell has going. it's such a nice change from the alt.country/rock stuff i always listen to.
-
i like DBT but honestly don't listen to them much anymore, if at all. i listen to isbell's albums on a weekly basis. he was always my favorite in dbt & i have pretty much no interest in that band anymore.

hmmm....sounds good.

Rubberneck. Great album. I saw them open for white zombie and they were amazing. Haven't heard any new stuff though
