  1. maybe there aren't any rapists for kiffin to go after in those states.
  2. I got a copy of this last week and am very pleased with it. It is definitely the mellowest album from these guys (they assure me they are working on a new rocker) but has some catchy up beat tunes. They are also doing a pretty big tour up the entire east coast here in a couple of weeks. Definitely check them out if they are in your neighborhood.
  3. just listened to the new album. i like what i heard. i look forward to listening to it not at my computer at work.
  4. The last time I saw him, in September maybe, he had two drummers. I thought that sounded good.Does he still have two drummers?
  5. Just giving this a first listen. I like what I am hearing so far. Definitely sounds like more of a band effort than the last record.
  6. I would say Daydream Nation for sure. Absolutely fantastic album.
  7. I always was pretty lukewarm on the birght eyes but i really dig the mystic valley band. i attribute that largely to taylor and macey. it's great to see those guys having some success.
  8. i just did the standard too.
  9. i ordered mine last friday and it just came in the mail.
  10. I was going to suggest you go to oz in tuscaloosa but i guess you used to manage that store (unless you manage vinyl solutions back in the day). the guy at oz told me a few weeks back they would have the dvd and if you are in birmingham it's only about a 30 or 45 minute drive and you could check out the a day festivities while you are there.
  11. That's no joke. I just went and bought new ones to make sure I am protected. They guys definitely play it loud.
  12. I am definitely looking forward to it. Since it appears you are from Chattanooga, any recommendations for food beforehand? How is the venue?
  13. Has anyone seen any shows so far this tour? We are going to make the drive to Chatanooga tonight and was curious as to when they have been starting.
  14. I posted this elsewhere but it is probably fitting here too. they are putting out a documentary on the band as well http://www.conoroberst.com/one-of-my-kind-...-nikorette-mp3/
  15. i guess you won't be looking forward to this http://www.conoroberst.com/one-of-my-kind-...-nikorette-mp3/
  16. I just got my tickets for chatanooga. the venue is tiny and you get a free 7" with your tickets.

  19. Two nights ago i missed the pogues in atlanta because i had too much to do at work. i gave them to a friend and he said they were good. also, in '95 the second night of the dead at deer creek was canceled due to the gate crashing the night before. at least i got to see the first night. i'm sure there are more but those standout.
  20. They really hit the nail on the head with the bar owner. His line about following widespread during college then hitting a line reminded me of about every bar owner i ever knew in boone or tuscaloosa. the show is funny.
  21. Yeah, the sound in the room of the classic center where they played in 06 is certainly underwhelming. That said, there is a theater side of the classic center that sounds great.
  22. I'm with you on this. The Alabama Theater is such a great venue.
  23. Very sad indeed. Got to see them a few years back in Nashville, it's hard to believe he was almost 60 then.
  24. There are theories that jill the butcher is annie. http://lostpedia.wikia.com/wiki/Annie
