  1. That's fair. Acknowledging the fact that a vote can only incrementally affect the chances of one of two people becoming president and feeling good about it are two different things.
  2. You don't have to, but then you're not answering the question.
  3. The one thing that really stuck in my craw here is it seems his closing remarks imply that Jeff chose casual albums to save his family. Like he can't make a "grand statement" and be healthy. Tell me if I read it wrong.
  4. I keep saying she says half, not all. You can easily say to yourself "I'm not trying to ban Muslims. I don't think illegal immigrants are a bunch of rapists and murderers." No one is putting you in the basket. As for me I'll happily take on any statement of half. It's either true or it ain't!
  5. Nah, I'm a western yank but my wife and I are both Spanish speakers and we were knocking s. American countries off our bucketlist. Uruguay is really cool. We loved Montevideo and the coastal towns up north. Too bad they're playing a big fest in BA, it could be a fairly inconvenient excuse to go to another amazing city.
  6. Remember the death panels? Remember the crack heads with Obama phones?
  7. Interesting, many folks I talk to on the right feel the Trump movement is a total hijacking. We've never seen rhetoric like his from a candidate in my lifetime. I find Obama fairly moderate and Clinton slightly moreso. What in her policy strikes you as more radical left?
  8. Not butthole. I like music. I don't give half a dang what some other schmo in the audience thinks- they don't need to broadcast it. America has officially lost the ability to occasionally shut its damn trap and just BE somewhere for a couple hours.
  9. Doesn't this make them the other, non-basket half? Maybe they get upset because they've seen the videos of Trump supporters at rallys and don't want to get lumped in with the other nut bars they're voting with.
  10. Wait, are you being sarcastic? No cheek, I'm legitimately curious.
  11. Perhaps therein proving the failure of the statement and the difficulty of trying to pitch anything in this Mike Judge meets Johnathan Swift political reality TV show.
  12. I think we're missing her tactic here. When she said "half", that gave people who don't like to see themselves as xenophobes (or who actually know what the word means) a chance to say "That's not me, but some of those other guys.... ew." That might be a way to nudge a Republican who was holding their nose and fighting back vomit to stop short of pulling the cheetoh colored lever.
  13. I live in Colorado and I've probably shopped there half a dozen times. I hope they keep it alive.
  14. Ha! My daughter is just 2 weeks old. I keep saying "Cry All Day" is her theme.I find sitting around at home with a newborn to be perfect for listening to records all day. Congratulations!
  15. I'm disqualified for liking each as its own thing BUT..... if I were cherry picking I'd be sure to include "More". It may have been the bombastic final straw in my car's ailing speakers.
  16. My favorite band in high school had a smart quote in their liner notes which applies here: "Music is an indirect force for change, because it provides an anchor against human tragedy." I'm glad we all have that. Hang in there.
  17. So here's something I'm wrestling with: PC caution and the Left- re: "basket of deplorables". I'm often an advocate for political correctness not for decorum, but for both inclusiveness and logic (see my pointlessly finger waggy detracting from a perfectly good discussion of music over a member's use of the term "ghey".) When someone on the right casts the danger net over all immigrants and Muslims it's not only dehumanizing, it's factually false. What are we to do on the left as a certain faction of the GOP points towards elitist prejudice when there is data showing bigotry from a majorit
  18. He really shouldn't read this shit.
  19. Interesting, I can see how Common Sense is the Sunloathe of this record (in the performance technicality department), but I'm surprised they haven't made a go of Just Say Goodbye.
  20. Good call, like Murray Street era SY.
  21. Anyone keeping track of the Schmilco songs they have and haven't played live?
  22. Omg cannister biscuits opening reduces me to an anxious 5 year old.
