  1. Here it is - the list of Senators who earned their paycheck yesterday (FISA bill). You might want to keep this in mind if your boy/girl isn't on this list and they're up for re-election this November: Akaka HI Byden DE Bingaman NM Boxer CA Brown OH Byrd WV Cantwell WA Cardin MD Clinton NY Dodd CT Dorgan ND Durbin IL Feingold WI Harkin IA Kerry MA Klobuchar MN Lautenberg NJ Leahy VT Levin MI Menendez NJ Murray WA Reed RI Reid NV Sanders VT Schumer NY Stabenow MI Tester MT Wyden OR With the exception of Sanders (I) all were Democrats voting nay.
  2. Congratulations, man! You should request that SBS be played at one of the August shows on wilcoworld - who knows, maybe they would play it and it would coincide with your daughter's birthday! How cool would that be?
  3. God bless you Senator. Thanks for making the trip today - many will remember. http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20080710/ap_on_...ennedy_medicare
  4. Soldier Field, 13 years ago today - the last show. Honestly, I'm glad I wasn't there. It was nice Phil stepped up and delivered the final tune - Box Of Rain. "Such a long long time to be gone, and a short time to be there." Strange that I got the new Road Trips today in the mail. Looking forward to digging into this one.
  5. Ahh yes, the old "I didn't know the microphone was on" trick. Lame, Jesse, very lame.
  6. I flashed back to The Ray-Gun on the microphone in '82 : "Attention Russia, the Evil Empire...we begin bombing in five minutes, heh heh.."
  7. I dunno - the duets she was doing with Bobby around this time on Looks Like Rain were pretty damn good, but I do understand your point.
  8. 7/8/94 - Great Woods Amphitheatre, Mansfield MA I: Llama, NO2, The Lizards, Tela, Wilson, AC/DC Bag, Colonel Forbin's Ascent > Famous Mockingbird, The Sloth, McGrupp, Divided Sky II: Rift, Sample, Reba, Yerushalayim Shel Zahav, It's Ice, Stash*,YEM > Frankenstein > YEM, Julius, Golgi E: Nellie Kane, Cavern 14 years ago today. The last (to date!) Gamehenge saga - complete with narration. * this version of Stash appears on A Live One. I don't know if there's a better version - one of the best examples of tension/release that I've ever heard by any band in any genre of music.
  9. 30 years ago today: 7/8/78 - Red Rocks Amphitheatre, Morrison CO I: Bertha > Good Lovin', Dire Wolf, El Paso, Roses, Minglewood, Ramble On, Promised, Deal II: Samson, Ship of Fools, Estimated > Other One > Eyes > Drums > Space > Wharf Rat > Franklin's > Sugar Mag E: Terrapin > Sat. Nite, Werewolves First run at Red Rocks ( this was night #2). The second set is where it's at here - the Estimated > O1 > Eyes is quite good. Donna joins the band for some strange warblings (ala Ono) during the brief Space. The best part for me is at the end of Wharf Rat wh
  10. It was at Deer Creek* in Indiana. * I refuse to call it Verizon Wireless
  11. I'd love to but there's just no way I could swing it for various reasons - foremost being the wife's health concerns right now.
  12. Discarding the obvious answer (anything by Joe Cocker ) here's 10 that come to mind: Phish - Crosseyed and Painless (Talking Heads) Beatles - Twist and Shout (Isley Bros) Grateful Dead - Morning Dew (Bonnie Dobson) Jeff Beck - Cause We've Ended As Lovers (Stevie Wonder) Cream - Spoonful (Willie Dixon) Steven Stills (w/ Mike Bloomfield & Al Kooper) - Season of the Witch (Donovan) King Crimson - Mars (from the "Planet Suite") - Gustav Holst Roxy Music - Like a Hurricane (Neil Young) SRC - In the Hall of the Mountain King (Grieg) Quicksilver Messenger Service - Who Do You Love? (Ellis McDa
  13. I saw them here then. Good times. Weird, I've seen Plant with his band ('85/'86), Page with The Firm, and JPJ opened for King Crimson in '01 but I never got to see Zep.
  14. OK. IRDB, I went back and read the second, epic, story. I liked this one much more as it was more my speed you might say. The best part was the end - 50 year old hippies giving you 'hope'. I still think Panic sucks but to each his own old sod.
  15. Aman - how far are you from Merriweather Post? That would be a great evening to be sure. I once saw a ABB/P&F double bill (6/29/02) and it was one of the most awesome displays of stamina I've ever seen by Mr. Warren Haynes. First, he did about 75 minutes with the Mule, then 2 solid hours with the ABB, and finished off with a long (2 1/2 hour) set with Phil. Close to 6 hours onstage in grueling heat and the dude wore a long sleeved black shirt the entire time. Amazing.
  16. Well I'll be damned. I knew I should have went up there - but this is still pretty cool news.
  17. See, that's what he gets for being a blasphemer. "The David Gilmour Nonet"
  18. I'm glad this got re-opened. Let Helms' record speak for itself. The man stood in direct contrast to everything America is supposed to be about (I said supposed). Robert Byrd saw the error of his previous convictions, evidently Helms never did. I hope that wherever he is he's surrounded by nothing but African-American Communist lesbian women.
  19. Barbecues Cold beer Girls in short-shorts Low humidity The music of Jerome John Garcia
  20. David Nelson Band - 11/15/07 AUD The "Harvest Tour" of Northern CA.
  21. Well now...after what I would say was one of the most epic matches I've ever seen (or will ever see) Nadal finally bested Roger on the grass. Even in defeat the guy was just incredible - every time he had his back against the wall he'd serve an ace or unleash The Forehand of God. I think he faced like 20 break points and only was broken 4 times (twice in the second set). He now shares Borg's record, so that's pretty cool. Nadal has most definitely improved his game since I first started this thread (much greater velocity on the serve, and that killer backhand! 15 backhand winners today). Si
  22. Me too. There's a dozen or so I need to get - same with Zappa. I know Real Live gets no love but I always enjoyed that record.
  23. Although the lyrics kinda read like a newspaper report, the versions that he did with the GD (at Garcia's request) are pretty good imo.
