  1. Maggie - I'm so glad you had such a great time. It was a pleasure meeting you too. My mind was so blown by the sets we saw in Indy! I wish I could have done the whole run. Just a fantastic band.
  2. So, nudge...did your special lady friend have a surprise for your birthday? (he asks knowingly) I'll bet she did I'll be she did! A nod's as good as a wink squire! Hope it was a good one - say no more!
  3. Jon Stewart did a great bit on that last night.
  4. That's the first thing I thought of when I saw this thread.
  5. He performed that tune on Letterman tonight and it was very impressive imo. I'm looking forward to hearing more of this record.
  6. There's a lot of yapping from the 'experts' about Wesley Clark, but I dunno. Someone like him would probably be a better choice as Sec. of Defense. Jim Webb intrigues me - he seems to be pretty solid, and could possibly help turn VA blue....which brings about a whole 'nother train of thought - the redrawing of the electoral map with these 2 candidates (Barack and McCain). Things could look a whole lot different this next time around (I hope). If Gore had thrown his hat in the ring 6 months ago this whole campaign would look vastly different right now. Carville was calling for him to get t
  7. That explains a lot Dave. I have a King Crimson show from '69 (when they used a bunch of mellotron) and during the improv bits at the end of "Travel Weary Capricorn" (and right before "Mars") I'd swear it's the same piece of music. Like a 'cha-cha-cha' dance lesson music.
  8. For some odd reason I've never heard this. I've heard all about it though.
  9. I'm not sure because I no longer have the LP ( my brother nicked it from me) but on the Signals back cover there was a shout out - "special thanks to Warren Cromartie".
  10. May The Force be used to give you the happiest of birthdaze!
  11. All I'll say is - the greatest rock record of all times. NP: Grateful Dead - 6/10/73 RFK Stadium SBD
  12. That would be my LRS request man. What are you, psychic?
  13. You should have seen the look on their faces when I played the Floyd's "Seamus". Delia walked right over to the speakers and cocked her head like "why is there a dog in that cabinet?"
  14. I thought she could have been a bit more conciliatory, but all in all she did fine. Even though Barack is now the figurehead of the party HRC still holds the key to his success imo. If she gets out there and works hard for Barack (and doesn't appear to just be going through the motions) Obama will stomp on the terra this fall.
  15. Happy Birthday Rosie! I look forward to more DJ work from you - the only time I've ever heard the WSQ on the radio.
  16. Happy Birthday to a fellow lover of the fine craft brews! May your day include the taste sensations of Left Hand Brewery and the aural delights of Stipe, Buck & Co.
  17. Vibes to you WW. Michelle (Poca) is going to get the epidural this week also. ::fingers crossed::
  18. 13 years ago this week - the beginning of Summer "Space Camp". Arguably one of the most improvisational tours in the history of rock and roll. At the time it was fairly controversial - many had a tough time dealing with the length and scope of the jams, but the band was playing with a lot of confidence and it seemed to be a natural progression from what had taken place in '94. One thing's for sure - Phish never was any farther out than they were on this tour. Where else to go after this? 6/10/95 - Red Rocks Amphitheatre, Morrison CO I: Makisupa Policeman > Llama, Prince Caspian, It's Ic
  19. I haven't made a request yet, but I plan on doing so for the show I'll be seeing in August and I hope like hell that it happens.
  20. I've said before in previous years here when the date comes around but 6/10/73 is one of my all time favorites - maybe even my very favorite. Morning Dew to open! Playin' to close the first set! A lengthy second set, with one of the best Eyes I've ever heard. Plus a killer Dark Star, with lots of space and bass from the Professor. And then of course the 3rd set with the Brothers. A must have show imo.
  21. I don't see him winning, but if he does it will finally be The Al Franken Decade (only 28 years late ).
  22. Late For The Sky - Jackson Browne I can't believe no one mentioned this one yet - the whole record is magnificent melancholy.
  23. Knock 'em dead Sarah! The only advice I would offer is that usually for the first song or two I'm pretty anxious, so I like to start with something I can play in my sleep (or drunk ). After I get acclimated it's fun! Again, best of luck and have a great time.
  24. Oh yeah. The 6/22/94 Icculus (paraphrased) - "You might be in game 7 of the NBA Finals. I don't care if you're Kareem, Hakeem, Shaleem, any of those people...you are NOTHING if you haven't READ THE FUCKING BOOK! READ IT! IT CAN SAVE YOUR LIFE! One of the craziest things I've ever heard.
