  1. Happy Belated Norbsie! I always request a pizza place on my birthday, too!
  2. You can't do this! You just can't! Do you realize how hard it was for me to find someone even crazier than I am? Everyone around here puts up with my booze-soaked rants, so don't get discouraged. I felt bad yesterday, busting on you. But if you must leave so be it - good luck and Godspeed.
  3. Yeah. It probably accounts for 25% of my posts. I REALLY should get a life.
  4. The first set seems normal enough. Set 2 is when the goofyness takes over. And the Werewolves encore - damn, that thing is just ridiculous (in a good way).
  5. You know who needs an avatar? Panther. In fact, it would be great if we could come up with one for Panther. Suggestions?
  6. If you perceive me to be like Dick Latvala then I'm perfectly OK with that.
  7. Well I'll be dogged! Good to see ya around these parts, Gary! See you at the next webcast?
  8. When I was but a young lad there was a little corner mom-and-pop grocery store two blocks up the street - the sign said "H Stone Grocery". Cool, huh? ANYWAY...have a super day, Tam!
  9. Peter Townshend has spoken at length, and very eloquently, on the concept of rock and roll (and especially rock concerts) as a form of salvation. I tend to agree with him - the very best bands (through their music) can achieve transcendence in the listeners. Wilco is no exception there. I've been to a few Wilco shows that just left me completely energized - not all, but a lot of it has to do with the frame of mind I was in at showtime.
  10. If I'm home that night I will most certainly be here.
  11. You CAN hear the party "dripping through the speakers" on that 5/11/78 show. Rumor is that the whole band ingested some good mescaline that night, and it sure sounds like it. Not the best 'Dancin' ever, but those vocals are CRAAAAZY.
  12. Outer space is fun for a time, but it's honestly not all that.
  13. I watched the Isaak Show Friday night, and it was very good. Set your DVRs if it shows up again soon!
  14. Thanks, dondo. I missed this last night.
  15. Happy Belated Birfday Jen & Lance! Two of VC's finest!
  16. Wait, you mean Sabbath's 6th LP? Hole in the sky (gateway to Heaven)...symptom of the universe...megalomania...the writ...Christ, it all make sense now!
  17. That Viola Lee on DP #8 is as fierce as they come. Enjoy!
  18. I wasn't familiar with their early music, but a friend of mine who was stationed in Germany late 70s - early '80s saw them at some big festival over there then and said they were quite good. I guees they fell prey to the same thing a lot of bands did then - power ballads, MTV etc etc..
  19. I told Eric if Whitesnake was on the bill here I would just sit in the lobby and drink Sierra Nevadas until Coverversion & Co. were done.
  20. Yeah, I think we talked earlier in this thread about British Steel being the point where JP made a concious decision to try to get radio airplay. That said, I'm looking forward to it - the last time I saw the band was Dec. '82 (Screaming For Vengeance) with Uriah Heep opening. The other time I saw them was May '81 (Point Of Entry). Still EASILY the loudest show I've ever been to. CRAZY loud.
  21. The Priest @ The Murat in Indy on 6/29! My friend Eric is on his way to pick us up tickets at the box office right now!
  22. I wasn't concerned - I knew it wasn't you.
