  1. "starting to" I still like the band very much and even still get pumped to here "Tessie" now and again (good tune to crank in the car), but too much is too much.
  2. I'll respond to these two. So now "things that are wrong with (America)" include doing things outside of our borders? Of course we don't speak foreign languages; besides "love," English is the International language. Unless you're in our country. Then it's about a 50-50 split with Spanish. And being over-protective against terrorist attacks? The chances may be very, very small that it happens to "me" but memories are still very, very vivid of when it happened last. Perhaps you don't understand the impact terrorist attacks have made on people over here being half a world away. I don't know.
  3. Nothing like post-season sports to bring out the underbelly of dirt bags gouging fans along with the folks who allow them to drive them to the edge insanity.
  4. 5. Wakefield out for WS, Snyder in. Yaz to toss out first pitch in Game 1: http://www.boston.com/sports/baseball/reds...as/extra_bases/
  6. A lot of faith in a higher power, I've heard.
  7. Yes, it's true: teams can be good without a hefty payroll.
  8. I was on line (the computer was doing the re-load and I was watching non press releases) for about 7 hrs yesterday and 3 today. Oh well. The t.v.'ll have to do. I would've been willing to part with $65 Rock Pile seats for me and my kid, anyway.
  9. Etta also sang on "Lovelight" and "Baby What You Want Me ToDo." I remember hearing a story that she really didn't know much, if anything, about the dead prior to that night. I remember her singing that the Dead were the "baddest Amerrican Blues band alive" during one of the tunes.
  10. I think the Gilbert Gottfried offer is pri-tayyyy, pri-tayyyy good.
  11. I was in a GD cover band in high school (drummer). We basically smoked weed and messed around after school, played in morning assembly a few times and a few parties.
  12. With hopes of my final prediction/guess to work out, of course.
  13. Dylan's New Morning is in my top 5 of his.
  14. ALDS: BOS LAA ALDS: NYY CLE NLDS: COL PHI NLDS: ARI CHC ALCS: BOS NYY NLCS: COL ARI WS: BOS COL
  15. It snowed yesterday/last night. Pretty much all melted away right now. Guess the system for tix is shut down until later today....
  16. Papelbon last night: Slideshow: http://www.fannation.com/tags/show_tag/3952 video: http://ballhype.com/story/papelbon_riverside_dance_2007/
  17. Eagerly anticipating what Papelbon will treat us to. What an awesome series to watch. Can't believe the Sox will be out here in Denver next week in the WS. Amazing.
  18. lysistrata: did you notice that Schilling started his own game thread over at the other place for yesterday's game? He's "on" so he did the same for tonight's game.
  19. I watched the game last night with a buddy in a full-fledged Sox bar (Sox memorabilia/banners all over the joint inside and out). All the regulars and bartenders had "bloody" right ankles in support of Schilling. It was funny watching guys roll in at the start of the game and hiking up their pant legs to show 'em off.
  20. Well this thread certainly quieted down. I'll assume everyone is just stunned at the audacity of BOS?
  21. Spanish is the new English. They could speak gibberish for all most people care, as long as they get the crap into the bag within 2-3 minutes.
  22. I caught DSO last night for the first time in awhile. They did their own selections of tunes/no select show. They had a screen behind them that was enormous. It must've been 50 ft. wide by 30 ft. tall. All sorts of cool imagery during tunes. Quite the production. They sounded pretty decent, too. Sweet "Visions," excellent "Easy To Slip" (this was unexpected and easily one of my all-time favorite tunes) and a very nice "Stephen" to note.
  23. Nader is the Everyman for the common man and does an admiral job as the eyes, ears, heart, and mouthpiece for a lot of folks. I admire the man. This doesn't mean I think he'd make a good President, though. It's a far leap to assume he'd be cut out for the job just because he's a decent man.
