  1. I do. I'm on the wait-list for it at the library....
  2. I think he means that the Denver economy benefitted from the Rockies' post-season by having millions upon millions of dollars spent in town.
  3. I need to agree on this. He was liked when he was first acquired but something happened when he started playing games..
  4. I can only assume this has the tune they played on Fox at the end of the WS Sunday night during the 5 minute montage? "Radio Nowhere," I think? It was the first time I'd heard it and it worked well wiith the footage.
  5. Joe Torre wedging his way in before Grady Little can be officially shit-canned makes me a little happy.
  6. Yeah, but teams are already gearing up for next season. And something tells me this off-season will be quite enjoyable.
  7. Little Nicky. Wretched (sorry A-man). I've slept through several, though. Notably Apocalypse Now when I was like 13. I woke up just as the cow was getting chopped in half. I've also slept through several kid's movies. And The Nutcracker musical (live) at Radio City Music Hall because I was hung to the bone.
  8. I won't use a razor unless I know it's been tested on a cat and proven to leave a smooth, close shave.
  9. I'd have said Ortiz, but Lowell was certainly deserving as well.
  10. He did have a great regular season. Daisuke Matsizaka had a better post-season in one game with a bat than A-Rod has had his last three post-seasons, though. Reading some of his own quotes shows me that he really feels out of place in NY, and BOS is very similar in terms of being on the big stage with relentless press coverage, fan knowledge, expectations, scrutiny.,etc. I'm not saying he's too thin-skinned to perform well, but I think it will be a factor in where he ultimately ends up.
  11. I don't know but he seems to internalize and dwell on any negatives he gets from the press and the fans.
  12. Wow. I hope BOS re-signs Schilling to a one-year.
  13. I agree. He's too thin-skinned for BOS, too.
  14. I'm not suggesting he's headed towards the Mets, but I think his options (other team's options) are limited considering his contract. That contract (along with other A-Rod factors) may well be an albatross even if he is a gifted player. I've gotta say that the timing of Boras releasing the A-Rod news is pretty damn weak, too. Couldn't he have waited until today?
  15. Speaking of the Mets: now that NYY are out of A-Rod's contract, who besides the Mets and BOS can afford the guy? I hope the Red Sox re-sign Lowell (though his value/cost probably goes up with a vacancy at 3rd base in NY now) and stick with Lugo/Pedroia.
