  1. Huhn. I always just assumed sobriety would be full of up falls....
  2. Prior commitment my ass, you've known about this show for months....
  3. Poon, if it's goats you want to read about, get The Backyard Goat: An Introductory Guide to Keeping and Enjoying Pet Goats, from Feeding and Housing to Making Your Own Cheese. Thank me when you're done. Or, now works, too.
  4. Hardworking Americans and CRB on Sat Phish next Fri, Sat, Sun.
  5. I agree. Particularly, "Goodbye Daughters of the Revolution," "Oh Josephine," "Locust Street," "Movin' On Down the Line," and "Whoah Mule."

  7. Well, you said last "decent" album, though. Neither the Widowermaker Ep or Independent are close to those you cited, but they're still "decent." I think I listened to Electriclarryland twice. I'm not saying it sucks, just that I can't recall anything besides "Pepper" from it....
  8. Infrared Roses- GD I listened to about 3 minutes of this when it first came out and likely not another note since.
  9. It is a bit raw, in places, for sure but worth being busted out now and again. Do you have the re-release with the bonus tracks? Rykodisc re-released all the albums (to that point) in 1999 with some really killer bonus stuff, like tons of bonus tracks. A pal of mine worked for Ryko at the time and hooked me up with them. The Bonus Tracks on Meat Puppets 1 include covers of Iggy Pop, Neil Young, and the GD, as well.
  10. Oh man, it's not my first choice when putting on a MPs album, but there's plenty of listenable material on there (imo). Try the one with the Bonus Tracks that came out in '99, maybe. "Bang and Blame, "too. "...Kenneth" is still a good tune, as well.
  11. The band seems to get better throughout this current tour. Been thoroughly enjoying the streams. Lots of repeats, but also some surprises. Merriweather (Sat.) was sick.
  12. Loosely translated, the name is Spanish for "The Wolves."
  13. This is dynamite. Nathaniel Rateliff & The Night Sweats: https://www.youtube.com/watch?t=15&v=iDAELXSDRrE

  15. Well, to be fair, he didn't use that term, I did. All in all, it's just another person's opinion, too. I take it as he's saying it's not comparable to some of their other work. I disagree that it's a "load of shit," though.
  16. Keith actually compared Their Satanic....to Sgt. Pepper in that they both seem to be albums that tossed tunes together: I've been thinking about Rubber Soul, Revolver, Sgt. Pepper, and The White Album and listening to Beggars
Banquet, Let It Bleed, Sticky Fingers, and Exile on Main St. Over the past 20 years, I've
listened to that Stones stuff far more often "No, I understand—the
Beatles sounded great when they were the Beatles. But there's not a lot of roots in that music. I think they got carried away. Why not? If you're the Beatles in the '60s, you just get carried away—you forget wh
  17. I just saw on Col. Bruce Hampton andf the ARU's page that the same quote is up, but attributed to Oteil. Whoever put the same up on Herring's did not put who the quote was attributed to (I have also seen the Herring one you mentioned, since). Just a mistake, it appears, of forgetting to have the "- Oteil Burbridge" at the end.
  18. Pretty cool article about last night's show and how a fan helped revive the second "jam" in "Mike's Song" after a 15 yr. hiatus/disregard: http://blog.phish.net/1438706532/nashville-skyline-greatest-hitz
  19. Your Bobby is a Wonderland Herring will be playing with WSP in Asheville on 10/31/15....
  20. Superior in what way, though? I'm not questioning the force that is The Stooges by any means, but it's not a competition. I find it a bit inane to even compare the two as they are two completely separate entities, each with their own merits. Or to compare the "superiority" of any two bands, for that matter.
  21. I've been listening to/watching most of the current tour and disagree. First, I don't understand how someone could fool themselves into liking something they like or perceive as "great". While current Phish attacks most tunes a little differently, I don't see it as them being a "mere shadow" of what they were, nor do I see them as a "run of the mill" band. The "Weekapaug" last night, alone, speaks volumes to this. While I don't like a few of the new tunes they've been debuting, there are several that fit in as if they are well-seasoned regulars. The band is obviously having fun and they are pl
