  1. Apparently they're made out of old milk jugs and tires. Those are adorable! There's a pair similar in style that I almost got in blue for big girls too. Congrats btw! That pic is priceless.
  2. What an awesome thread...katie333, don't apologize, the more the merrier! You have some great shots there. Here's some random ones...I love photos...but am truly an amateur myself. I see some seriously gifted photographers here though! Funky one from state fair last year: Pics from Florida trip last year:

  4. Sounds like a great show...glad you had "good luck" again! Good setlist as well. Who sang with him on "Dear John" out of curiousity? (I've never seen him live) Wished I was going to the show in Kansas City tonight. Thanks for sharing.
  5. This is very cool, Reni. Kudos to you and lots of vibeage for a great press conference.

  7. This is a great recording (in spite of the chatter)...thanks so much! My hubby reports he can't stop listening to it.
  8. It's awesome, ya'll. Seriously. I'll shut up and go now.
  9. I agree with Edie. A real highlight meeting you two and hearing the story. What else is so amazing is how intertwined your lives had been with mutual friends/acquaintances and yet you never met each other before this phone call from sistersooie's mom...and obviously, we spent very little time with you guys...and yet the similarities in your appearance and personalities are just uncanny...an amazing story. On a different note, I also loved hearing your accents...'specially when you called me "Fluff".
  10. He owes you big time! Maybe he needs to drive you to and from the KC show? Also, I found your new avatar, Miss Hathaway!
  11. Aww, thanks so much for sharing that. Amazing story.
  12. Thanks...dumb luck for sure. All of the ones of Nels are a blur...he's so amazing to watch...flashes of Handshake Drugs are coming to me now just thinking of it. A few more very blurry shots... Nels in motion: Jeff's bustin' a bit of a move: I liked this one of John too (Pat was elusive where I was standing ):
  13. Hi! Thanks for the kind words. It's funny you mention the bowl haircut guy...I didn't realize from where I was that that was his haircut...I assumed he had headphones or something...and then I looked at the pic and realized...no, that's hair! You should say hi at the KC show, poppydawn! (Think you said you're going to that one?) Thanks, Donna! You are very kind. But you are the master, my dear. (I have one of you looking particularly during soundcheck...think you were trying to tell me and Ms. Chris to get to the front! )
  14. Yay! Welcome...jump in the water's fine. p.s. Sorry for the bunny ears. Sooie told me to do it.
  15. Hope it's a good one! (Apparently a lot of VCers have sprouted from your loins...wow, that's amazing stuff!)
  16. I didn't get very many good shots of the show (be sure to check out kidsmoke's thread!), but here's one of Nels that was kind of funky: And, here's something more like the moon over 9th Street
  17. Couple of Glenn: (think I've been spotted...oops)
  18. Here's a few from soundcheck I got:
  19. Fall's my most favo-rite. I love the crisp, blue sky one day, then foggy, spooky rain the next. I'm always ready for blue jeans and making soup/stew/chili weather too. I really like living where I do in the fall. Right now the Flint Hills are covered in yellow wildflowers (broomweed mostly), with dots of lavender and blue (blue pitcher sage ). Soon the grasses will all turn and the hills will be all shades of gold, tan, browns, and rusts...with a splash of red (sumac or poison ivy) here and there. And of course the trees...just a huge fan of all things fall...pumpkin patches, apple orchard
  20. Brianne, I just read your blog. (Lots of good stuff btw!) "Trying to channel Bono" were the exact words that came up in my conversation with fellow concert goers about them. I guess to be fair, I suspect if I heard their music on the radio (without the visual) I might think "oh, this is nice". ...and I did enjoy watching the bassist and drummer now that I think of it (we were in the front row trying to avoid eye contact with the lead singer! LOL). You were very kind in your response. It's a tough gig being an opener, isn't it?
