  1. They are co-headlining with Peter Gabriel at the Hyde Park Calling Festival (June 23rd) for all you UK dwellers/summertime travelers. More here: http://www.frenz.com/crowdedhouse/tourdates.html U.S. dates please!
  2. Awww, these are great! Thanks for sharing these. Made my morning seeing all the beautiful faces and happy memories. The last one made me giggle out loud too. (You guys have some gorgeous homes btw too!)
  3. I like these examples so far. I really like Colonial Bhoys vocals and Cathy Jordan reminds me a tad of a cross between someone like Natalie Mechant and Patty Griffin...but sweeter if possible. Nice. Thanks for sharing... These guys are part Irish and part midwest... The Elders I've yet to make a live show, but I hear they are lots of fun. Have their new album, Racing The Tide...Steve Phillips does vocals, mandolin, guitar...he was part of the The Rainmakers (out of Kansas City, believe they even had a few top 100 hits back in the 80s ??) if anyone is familiar with them.
  4. Mr. Liverwurst, thank you for that recipe btw. I wished we had a place to get sausage like that. I'm gonna try it out sometime soon...gumbo too. It was close to 80 here last night, so we grilled chicken breasteses and had baked sweet potatoes and salad...yummy, simple, "summer" meal (sometimes like to substitute sweet corn on the cob for sweet potatoes). Sadly, it's back down in the 50s and rainy here. I think I'm gonna make an alfredo, angel hair concoction with veggies and leftover chicken tonight. With lots of parmesan. Kebabs sound really good. And so does home fried chicken,
  5. I think it had just the right amount of subjective Flick...I'd like to see a few more rat's asses though to be honest.
  6. This is one of my son's favorites as well. (Also, Hoodoo Voodoo, but we tend to make up our own words to that one. ) Thanks for sharing some of these other versions, much appreciated.
  7. OMG that looks delish. We loves the cajun cooking in our house. My parents just brought us a bunch of cajun spices, file' etc. from a recent trip to Louisiana...care to share your recipe? The trinity looks beautiful...sweet orange bell pepper? Mmmmmm.....*drool What kind of sausage is that?
  8. Apparently Squeeze declined the offer. Edited: 'Cos I realized I don't have a linky to confirm my statement but I did read this from the Frenz site...sorry for the confusion. SQUEEZE OFFERED REUNION DATES WITH CROWDED HOUSE British pop act SQUEEZE turned down the chance to reform for a US tour with reunited CROWDED HOUSE, but they're closer than ever to getting back together. The COOL FOR CATS hitmakers, fronted by singer/songwriters CHRIS DIFFORD and GLENN TILBROOK, were offered a lucrative deal to support Crowded House this summer (07). Difford admits the band considered a reunion
  9. I really like the Dixie Chicks' album. I took my parents to see Neil Diamond last year and enjoyed it. Counting Crows' August is a go to album for rainy depressing days. I didn't know Willie Nelson was a guilty pleasure...guilty as charged. I've been known to watch CMT, especially Edge of Country. JT's newer stuff is catchy IMHO. Dancing Queen is on several of my playlists. The list goes on...
  10. Congratulations Lammycat Fam! Hope mom, baby, and everyone are doing well. (That is some seriously good timing btw...and a great birth story to have I would think.) Enjoy! Melissa
  11. And I would like to know where the fun is in that? I'm enjoying the photos and this thread immensely. (of course, I'm not Jeff either! )
  12. You can just feel the warmth radiating in this thread...what a magical night it must've been. Thanks for sharing the words and pics with us. What a great thing Sue and Jeff do. What a great thing you all have done. And yes, add me to the list of wanting to know who's who in those pics! (kidsmoke, who are you whispering to over yer shoulder??? LOL ) And the poster is gorgeous. If you ever decide to sell them, will you let us know? (Another fundraiser maybe?) I would love to own a copy. More please!
  13. Could you add me to PM list? Sadly, our copy has bubbles in the background. Many thanks in advance...you guys rock. Edit: Got it, thanks you guys!!!
  14. I'm right there with you rwrkb. It's the little things and all that.
  15. I'm gonna wait and buy it. This will be the first time I've been around (VC that is) for a release and I'm looking forward to the thrill of it all. I've been checking my e-mails waiting for the wilcoworld pre-order packages...do they do that? Of course if Wilco streams it, I'll be all over that.
  16. I like 1000 Kisses a lot, sounds like I need to check this out.
  17. Awww, many thanks yous! This has been a loverly little surprise today. Have really enjoyed all the smart, witty, wonderfully odd people on VC, and look forward to spending more time here...and at Wilco shows! Thanks again all for making me smile. I needed that.
  18. Along those same lines, I would submit his now wife, Iris Dement. My Life is one of my most favorite albums. I suspect her voice isn't for everybody, although I really take to it. Wish she would tour more in the midwest...it's been too long since I've seen her perform. (And I must learn more about Greg Brown...only have heard a song or two, suggestions on where to start album-wise?)
  19. This is a great song. Thanks for posting this...now I'm certain I need this CD. (And the video is very "Mr. Phudd-esque" for lack of a better description.)
  20. Me too. Torturous really. QT kept timing me out. This setlist is amazing though. Hope we'll get a repeat dealio...
  21. Another side sleeper here. Even though, there's a bit of rumor that's been started in my house that I snore and when I snore I'm flat on my back ...all I know is I go to sleep on my side and I wake up on my side. End of story.
