Yusssssss. "So far, Wilco have laid down some 20 tracks for the album, which has the working title of Get Well Soon Everybody. Tweedy says the material fits into two categories: experimental-leaning rock and "cinematic-sounding country music…you know, folk music."

Shit! From Wilco's Facebook: "News flash: New Wilco 7" single for sale at the Solid Sound Festival this June. The A-side is a new Wilco tune called "I Might" and it's b/w a cover of the Nick Lowe-penned "I Love My Label." This will be the first release on dBpm Records and will be available to the rest of the world sometime in July. More recording news to come very, very soon. Standby."

If you got the newspaper album you can now download The Butcher and Supercollider, their record store day 12". Honestly, over the past month and a bit since the record came out I've come to really love it and I'd rank it up in my favourite Radiohead albums. I'm probably in the minority but I just really love that it is a concise album with a very definitive feel to it, and Supercollider especially is a nice welcome addition to the songs.

I've seen him a bunch of times over the past year or so, but when I saw him last week with a full band (and a killer pedal steel player to boot) it was easily the best, such a solid record.

I'm pretty sure he will be. A lot of the same people playing the WFF are already rumoured to be playing Bluesfest, Blue Rodeo, M. Ward etc.

Yeah snagged the new rip last night. I'm weary of saying anything too ridiculous about this record just yet but... I had high expectations going into this record and it really has exceeded every one of them for me. I really think they've evolved their sound and songwriting in the perfect way, little to no electric guitars this time around but replaced by strings and even better harmonies than before. And the contrast between The Shrine/An Argument and Blue Spotted Tail in terms of size and reverb is so so great.

Such a goodie tonight. Setlist was even better than last nights I thought (Pieholden Suite WHAT), seemed to be less crazy "dudes" yelling out ridiculous stuff and I liked that. Jeff was in a great mood again and was hilarious. He flubbed the lyrics to Pecan Pie, which in itself was really funny (did Keylime very fittingly help him out with that?), but he also said something to the effect of: "this has to be one of the dumbest songs I ever wrote and it was when I was on pills, so take THAT tortured artist theory! bbop will have the setlist I'm sure. A bunch of rarities were played though! Jeff played one new song, which has now been dubbed the "Open Your Mind" song I guess, of course it's far too early to tell, and I have no clue what it will sound like with the full band, but I must say on first impression it had some fantastic lyrics and more of a country-folk tinge to it. Very promising. The crowd was pretty odd at times and the hecklers were yelling out some ridiculous things but Jeff was in high spirits and was hilarious all night. I actually just opened for the Beauties a week or so ago, and Shawn from the Beauties owns the Dakota and we had a lengthy chat about Wilco but he never mentioned anything like this, but hey you never know. A couple weeks ago I went to the Sky Blue Sky Sandwich Co. and they said that if Jeff didn't come in this week they were going to play Ryan Adams records all day long Kidding of course!

I can't believe I didn't post this much much earlier, but Jeff is apparently in Toronto a day early and he's filming an interview (and maybe a performance?) today at 2:30 on the Strombo show. Not sure what the ticket situation is like at this point, but sometimes if you go down to the CBC building you can get tickets that people didn't pick up for the taping, if someone wants to take that chance! I'll keep my head up for when it will actually air as well.

I'm going to see him in a few weeks and am pretty excited, even if it was just from memory that setlist looks great!

For me, it's getting better with each listen, the songs are really revealing themselves more with time. I agree with what was said earlier, it's certainly not going to be my favourite Radiohead release ever but it's solid nonetheless and I appreciate it for what it is. I totally agree with bigideas about Colin's basslines, easily the most impressive part about the record, so so good. And I am under much the same sentiment that a lot of other people are, that they'll be releasing another record soon enough, 4 years and 8 songs is far too little. Plus Separator basically confirms this though

It's really slick sounding eh. Lots of classic Ron moments, but maybe to "commercial" for my taste. Still one of my favs though.

So far I'm not blown away by it by any means, the first four songs are really hard to get through, there's no hooks, and Kid A for all its misunderstanding when it came out had hooks. Making an album that is tough to listen to is not revolutionary. Codex is really really beautiful, but Feral fucking sucks.

Upon my first listen the first half is pretty tough to get through, it sounds a lot like The Eraser. But for me the second half, from Lotus Flower on, those are four killer killer songs. This one sounds like a grower for sure though. Not one "rocker" though, I'm a little surprised by that.
