A guy on At Ease posted this from someone who has heard the record (plus track lengths). Jesus I am getting so excited.
  2. Album art (which is quite nice) and pre-order are now up at http://ashesandfire.kungfustore.com/ I really dig this tune though, a total return to form for him and I really hope the rest of the album is similar in quality. Good lyrics, good sounds, and his voice sounds great!

Yeah I find it hard to believe that it's truly "out there" if it's not on What or Waffles. If it has though they will usually do a stream in roughly a week I'd say. With SBS only three tracks leaked at first on some blog and then the whole thing leaked.

Pretty sure it wasn't written SPECIFICALLY for Colbert, probably just made sense as odds are they already knew the album title/concept and the whole "Colbert will love you baby" thing worked.

Yeah some folks over here have heard it. http://www.soundopinions.org/forum/index.php?showtopic=18180&st=940
  11. Awesome! The Townehouse isn't the most lavish place but it gets unbelievable stuff for its size, we've had some really good times playing there. And yeah You've Changed is a pretty unbelievable label lately, non-stop good stuff coming from them. My NP: It just leaked on a Portugese radio station, soooooo good.
  12. That's awesome it's a solid record, Brian's a good friend.
  13. It sounds pretty promising. A couple UK magazines that have an advance copy said it's his best in 10 years. I really just hope he put together a concise solid 12 song record, really that's pretty much all we want from him at this point.
  14. Newish song: And news about the new record? http://raritiesandb-sides.blogspot.com/2011/07/ryan-adams-to-release-new-studio-album.html "Ashes & Fire is set to include 12 country-rock songs, and will feature Tom Petty And The Heartbreakers' organist Benmont Tench and guest co-vocalist Norah Jones, who Adams has previously worked with on ...Featuring, Jones' 2010 compilation album. The album was produced by Glyn Johns, who has worked with the likes of The Who and The Rolling Stones. His son, fellow producer Ethan Johns, previously worked with Adams' band Whiskeytown back in the la
  15. It was right after Cheap Trick got off stage. Apparently only two people have sustained injuries according to an official report.
  16. Did pretty well this morning: Toronto Night 1 - 2 seats, row D, dead center Toronto Night 2 - 3 seats, row H, dead center Montreal - 2 GA Damn this will be a fun three days!
  17. Yeah he's incredible live (solo and with a band) I've caught him almost ten times since he's started his solo project, such a super nice dude too. My band opened for Attack In Black a year and a bit ago but I really dig his solo stuff so much more. Yeah I wasn't expecting much out of Death Cab or Bright Eyes either, but sure doesn't mean they didn't suck! I also didn't dig the Panda Bear record or Lucinda Williams.
  18. I'm going to break my own thread and give a top 16. Great suggestions though everyone I'm downloading a bunch as I type. Also, Solace will love that my opinion on the Bon Iver has completed changed and it's also great to see Daniel Romano's record on so many lists! 1. Bon Iver - Bon Iver, Bon Iver 2. Fleet Foxes - Helplessness Blues 3. One Hundred Dollars - Songs Of Man 4. PJ Harvey - Let England Shake 5. Daniel Romano - Sleep Beneath The Willows 6. Gillian Welch - The Harrow & The Harvest 7. Radiohead - The King Of Limbs 8. Bill Callahan - Apocolypse 9. Timber Timbre - Creep On Creep
  19. This is a toughie for me! Do I go see one two or three shows? Two nights at Massey are always great but the last time they played Montreal it was ace.
  20. It probably just means Jeff's publishing is still through Warner or something to do with the Anti- distribution deal.
