I broke my new serger already. I tried to sew something a little to thick, ok a lot too thick, and it broke a needle and bent the upper looper. I had to spend $63 to get it fixed. UGH!! It's not as heavy duty as my regular sewing machine. I have to get used to that.

I'm not too worried. We probably spent more than last year on Christmas because we had another baby to buy for. Overall, we have money in our retirement funds, money in the bank, we didn't buy more house than we could easily afford, we don't have credit card debt, we don't spend money just to spend it, etc.

The needles on my serger are uneven. I'm pretty sure mine is supposed to be that way...It works.

I can't sew things from a pattern. They always turn out way too big. I can sew just from making things up or from tutorials. I love to repurpose clothing too. I make Gracie dresses from Jason's old work shirts and I make Jacob and Grace pants from old t-shirts. That kind of stuff is easy.

I haven't had to thread my serger yet. It came already threaded and I haven't run out of thread yet. I did break a needle already though. I was making a pocket tissue holder for my mom and I guess I was pulling the fabric through instead of letting it go on its own. It was easy to replace the needle though. My mom-in-law gave me 3 curtains that she wants turned into valances. It's all really sheer fabric. She apparently has more faith in me than I have in myself.

We were at Moe's for lunch today and my 22 month old heard Slow Ride playing on the radio there. He stopped what he was doing and put his finger on his ear to indicate that he could hear it. Then he looked around the room. I think he was looking for the person playing Guitar Hero... My son's friend was over and made and asian black guy. They named him Blackie Chan.

I wish I could knit something like that. I can't get how to do it with more than one color.

DDR is hard. It probably doesn't help that I'm not the most coordinated person in the world. I'm definitely going to use the workout mode. It will be fun to see how many calories you burn while you play the game. Oh, and in guitar hero news, I almost beat Talk Dirty To Me on expert. Almost.

Wow, those quilts are awesome! No, I'd never used a serger before. I still don't know how to do much with it, but it seems pretty easy to learn. The book that it came with is pretty thick and it also came with a dvd.

i bought a serger sewing machine last night. It makes making the baby leg warmers way easier. I also made a few pocket tissue holders to give as Christmas gifts.

I ordered super hero capes for my nephew and 2 of my sons. I also got masks. Of course I had to let them try them out before Christmas because they are just sooo cool. This is where I got them and there are pictures here. http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?listing_id=8553946

I ordered Dance Dance Revolution yesterday for the Wii. It will be here tomorrow.

My boys are more Zack & Cody and Hannah Montana Fans. I think Jamie Lynn will at least be a better mother than Britney. What a screwed up family though.

I sent mine today.

Jacob, my 21 month old sings along to the "no, no, no" part of that song. Ryan, my 5 year old, likes to sing along to "Nobody Move, Nobody Get Hurt" by We Are Scientists...You know the line "if you want to use my body go for it." I think the song is on one of their video games.

My soon to be 6 year olds loves Art Brut. He sings along to Emily Kane, My Little Brother, etc. He even was talking in his sleep one night and said "stay off the crack." He also likes The Beatles, and Supernova's "Chewbacca." My 10 year old likes The Beatles, Pavement, and LOVES Guided By Voices. My 21 month old likes "Be Gentle With Me" by Boy Least Likely To and "1234" by Feist.

I'm glad I was never one of those girls. I only have about 5 candles and Jay won't let me light them because he's too afraid that the house will burn down...
-
Jay and I have been here for a long time. I remember the board being brown and I think purple. I also remember when a whole weekend would go by with no posts at all.

My 9 year old drinks coffee. Jason had a problem with the tachardia thing and went to the doctor for it. The doctor said to cut back on caffiene and when he did, that helped.
-
Coffee is nasty. Anyways, I used to drink way more caffiene than should be allowed. I drank it in the form of Diet Pepsi and Diet Coke. I decided that all of that caffiene can't be good for me (not to mention the aspartame, but that's another thread) so I switched to caffiene free. I still drink pop with caffiene in it when we go out. I feel soooo much better. I used to have a hard time getting a good night's sleep and would always nap. Now, I hardly ever feel the overwhelming need to nap and I sleep better at night. I never noticed how my body felt when I had so much caffiene in

Wonka candy beats chocolate any day
-
I can't take the texture of the rope. I'm not a fan of gummy candy. Wonka used to make these gumballs that were filled with nerds and they were awesome.

I didn't even notice. But I was too busy rocking out.

I've seen these online lately and got a chuckle. "I conquer" instead of "I concur" "chow" instead of "ciao" "deja view" instead of "deja vu"
