  1. eh, 400+ tickets for this show, cheapest one is 78 plus a combined $25 shipping and service charge. maybe the day before the show they will be cheap, but not yet i guess. says an awful lot there the show isn't sold out and there's still at very least 400 tickets through secondary sites. http://www.stubhub.com/neil-young-tickets/neil-young-chicago-5-7-2011-1063376/ chicago theater holds 3,600 so, let's say there's a total of 600 tickets being sold through scalping, and at least another 400 i'm sure still available at box office, that means as of now close to 1/3 of the venue is open. o
  2. i've got friends going, but i'm not. couldn't afford good seats and the cheap ones sold out in minutes
  3. the show is in like a week and a half i think
  4. Well, for what it's worth, there are 3rd row tickets for the first night, and 8th row tickets for the second night still available haha. Not to mention in the small venue, there are still hundreds of tickets left on scalping sites, which tells me that everyone, including neil, way overestimated the amount of demand there would be for tickets priced that high. if they don't drop the prices down quite a bit, this show will have a lot of open seats up front
  5. bbop, strictly out of curiosity are you going to post a review for this show? I love reading them and I'm curious what you thought of it
  6. I don't follow Jeff Tweedy solo shows too much, but were any of the songs extremely rare?
  7. Well the show they film should be flawless, Neil's had TONS of practice playing this show
  8. Haha, that's pretty funny. I'm not familiar with the "single ladies" thing though. And that's very cool for Paul! The crowd did seem great, it was just that the guys were so close to us, but it's all good, it was my first time seeing him solo, so it was pretty amazing for me.
  9. Just remembered another drunk tool behind us comment haha. After We've Been Had, the guy behind us said "If that's on the new album, I'm totally going to get it"
  10. Yeah that'd be pretty awesome haha. Jeff also said later about that song that you can't fake that kind of emotion. After sleeping on it, i'm still pissed that we happened to be right in front of the biggest douchebags in the room. Seriously, these guys aside from screaming during and after songs yelled out random shit. This isn't word for word, but this is what happened at one point. Jeff talking before a song. Douchebag 1: CHELSEA JAGER!!!! Jeff: Chelsea what? what's he talking about? Douchebag 1: YEEEEEEEEAHHHHHHHHHHHHH! random guy in crowd: it's the blackhawks song. Jeff: The blackhaw
  11. Eh, what the hell I'm bored, here are some highlights from me. -A guy requested Pick Up the Change, so Jeff serenaded him, staring at him and singing it to him. -He mentioned how he failed creative writing in school, and someone brought up Einstein failing math, so he wanted more examples of people who failed and became revolutionary or something. For some reason someone yelled Charlie Sheen, and without missing a beat, Jeff said how Charlie Sheen failed a drug test, and it turns out, he's great at taking drugs haha. -He re-told the story of the mayors daughter
  12. i don't know the setlist, but these songs were played for sure Sunken Treasure Spiders She's a Jar One Wing Pick Up the Change Too Far Apart Monday Forget the Flowers I Got You The Lonely 1 California Stars One By One Airline to Heaven When You Wake Up Feeling Old Jesus Etc Ruling Class What Light Sonny Feeling (first time acoustic he said) Lost Love Alone When the Roses Bloom Again We've been Had Screen Door So Much Wine Ripple the encore without PA was Someone elses song Acuff Rose i'm missing a few songs I think, but that's most of them!
  13. Just got back from the show. It was my first solo show and it was fantastic. Unfortunately we were sitting right in front of probably the biggest asshole in the theatre who screamed during and after every song and spilled beer on me and my friends. It didn't ruin the show, but it definitely put a damper on the evening.
  14. That's interesting, because I really like the song a lot. Also, I believe another song on the album is going to be this, which they've been playing live. Fantastic song by the way! There's also a short clip on amazon of one of the new songs called Holdin on to Black Metal. It's very short so you can't tell much, but it sounds interesting for sure. http://www.amazon.com/Holdin-on-to-Black-Metal/dp/B004UJRWXU/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=dmusic&qid=1302711696&sr=8-1 overall i'm very excited and think the album will be great

    Tweedy Solo

So i'm kind of on the fence about going. I've seen wilco lots of times and always loved it, but I've never seen Tweedy solo. What can I expect? Like how long does he play for and is there an opening band? I'm just not sure because I'm kind of worried if it will be lacking something since it's not full band. I've heard plenty of Jeff Tweedy solo shows, but I'm not sure what it'd be like to actually be there. Anyone have any insight?
  16. Well this brings up a fair question: What's creepier, the girl doing that, or the guy who is at a Jeff Tweedy show and staring at some girl the entire night instead of watching the performer?
  17. i agree completely, i used to listen to them, but haven't for a few years. The epic thing is spot on. Every song, even quiet ones, either have to huge build up live, or Dave starts screaming during it to give it more "energy" That's fine for some songs, but it can be a bit draining to listen to.

    Tweedy Solo

it's not specific for this show, just shows in general, i hate it. I was all excited to see tickets for The National in Milwaukee were $29, then when I selected 2 to buy the total was like $85. I'm so sick of the ridiculous charges that get added on. I think the Jeff Tweedy tickets were $50 each, but came to a little over $120 for 2. I just don't have a lot of money is all, and $50 would be pushing it a little for me, so $62 or whatever is just more than I have to spend. It's nothing against charities or anything, it's more to do with my money situation

    Tweedy Solo

I would love to go to one of these, but the processing charges kill me
  20. saw this, and i'm really surprised some of the bands playing it. I never wanted to see the day when the the Flaming Lips and Oar played at the same festival haha
  21. the international harvesters band was a great band, but they were kind of hit and miss with me. some of the songs i'm sure will be great, but sometimes i just didn't care for them. for example, powderfinger is one of my all-time favorite songs, but not like this haha http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T5TLFNXG810
  22. Tuesday's Gone- Cat Stevens Friday I'm in Love- The Cure
  23. haha, wow, if that happens it will be sad. sounds kind of like a hissy fit from old neil if he does pull the plug
  24. I'd love to hear a tonight's the night era live album! 1973-11-16, Music Hall, Boston, Massachusetts, USA w/ The Santa Monica Flyers Don't Be Denied / When You Dance I Can Really Love / Tonight's The Night / World On A String / New Mama / Roll Another Number / Tired Eyes / The Needle And The Damage Done / Ohio / Human Highway / Helpless / I Believe In You / Cinnamon Girl / Cowgirl In The Sand / The Losing End / Tonight's The Night Absolutely no idea on how that show is performance wise, but setlist wise it'd be a cool release I think
