  1. Has anyone listened to this show after getting it at Dime, yet? Comments on the sound quality?
  2. Mine just shipped for delivery at 5:52 AM CT. I have to leave for work at 10:50, so I am really hoping I get it in my hands before then.
  3. Sweet! Thanks to all involved. Can't wait to hear it, and fitting that it came out today.
  4. If you're pissed about the review (I sort of am, even though I expected it), just send an e-mail to Mitchum. Chances are he'll get back to you and probably explain in further depth what he didn't like about the album. I have e-mailed back and forth with a few Pitchfork writers with good results in the past. In all, though, I don't see what the big deal is. Music is a subjective thing, some people like SBS (I'm in this group), some people don't. There aren't very many things that are universally lauded - there are people that hate the Beatles and Dylan.
  5. This added piano and harmonizing during "What Light" is really sweet.
  6. 64/100 http://anthony.liekens.net/pub/scripts/las...p?user=brettac1
  7. Lots and lots of Iron & Wine. Most recently the Woman King EP. And now Feist's "The Reminder". I have had it for a while and just love it. She's great.
  8. Neal Casal. He is definitely awesome. The harmonies, in the live shows especially, are terrific. He has some solo work, as well. Mostly really mellow stuff.
  9. My first one hasn't happened yet, but it is going to be the June 13th show in Davenport. 4th row, can't wait. Circumstances hadn't worked out for going to a show until this year finally, and Davenport is as close as they are going to be for me.
  10. Last night is one of the best concert experiences I have had. I was about 10 rows back, and loved every minute of the show. Hearing The Tain was great, but Billy Liar really was one I wanted to hear. I would have really loved to see Grace Cathedral Hill, but that's no complaint. I was really glad with how well My Brightest Diamond played. She commands such attention up there, but it was like a lot of people didn't get into her set. It is definitely a much different dynamic than The Decemberists, though. Magic Rabbit was awesome, and when she did No Quarter, I was ecstatic.
  11. Outside of Wilco, Ryan is my favorite artist. He's just taken it to whole different level with the Cards and then sobriety. This is going to be the album that gets him taken seriously, and we won't have to hear the b.s. about "potential" all the time. He was supposed to be coming to Milwaukee in January, but then that tour got wiped out. It's getting rescheduled now, so hopefully the same venues are on the itinerary. I can't wait to see him.
  12. I'm normally just a person who listens to SBD's, however when it is a Tweedy solo show, you pretty much know that the recording will be nice because the crowd is typically polite and quiet, so everything sounds pretty much crystal clear. I'm only about 60% completed so far on this DL, but I can't wait to listen to it.
  13. They have played The Tain a couple times on this tour. They actually played it on 4/3. There's a recording of that show up on eTree. I'm really hoping to hear Los Angeles, I'm Yours or I was Meant for the Stage. A Cautionary Song would be sweet, too.
  14. I'm going to see them on the 20th in Madison. Can't wait. How was MBD? The girl I am going to the show with is a huge fan of her.
  15. I've been wondering about it since I heard about it being taped!
  16. of Montreal - Hissing Fauna (The Past is a Grotesque Animal is one of my favorite songs ever) SBS Neon Bible Loney, Dear - Loney, Noir Neil Young at Massey Hall Feist - The Reminder Bloc Party The Bird and the Bee Cassadaga Elvis Perkins I also cannot wait for Jens Lekman. He is one of my very favorites right now, I think I listened to pretty much everything he has ever recorded on two occasions this week. And I can't wait for Ryan Adams' Easy Tiger, either. I have heard most of the songs on all of the live shows from the past 8 months or so, and love them all. I think this is the recor
  17. Those March '05 Tweedy shows at the Vic are definitely in my top 5.
  18. I just listened to Sad Songs this afternoon, love that record. Alligator is good, but I like the sadder songs on SSFDL.
  19. When it does come out, is it going to just be seeded over at eTree? I can't wait to hear it. Jeff's solo shows are by far my favorite live recordings to listen to.
  20. Tie between Either Way and Walken. I love all of it, though.
  21. I was just listening to it in my car about 10 minutes ago. I'll say disc 2 is, because "Sunken Treasure" is my favorite Wilco song of the moment. I also love "Kingpin" and "Someone Else's Song". That's my favorite album, so though I say 2 is better, it's only by a slight amount.
