Yeah, oddly, the digital release was a few months ago but the physical release was this week. That seems to be the direction the music industry is moving in. I echo all the above sentiments. Additionally, even when Cooley's writing contributions are minimal, the songs he submits are out-of-the-park great. DBT are pretty much the only band I listen to that are putting out topical songs of the times right now.

Ben Kweller's first album since 2012 comes out on New Year's Day (technically it is out already but physical copy is due on NYD). I'm expecting a quiet year otherwise, most all my favorite bands released albums in 2020. Since all those bands couldn't tour behind their new albums, I wonder if they'll wait 'til touring resumes to release any follow-ups.

Via Chicago California Stars Lost Love Not For the Seasons (2001 solo tour/IATTBYH film version) Be Not So Fearful (IATTBYH film version) Born Alone I'm Always In Love Jesus Etc One Wing Magazine Called Sunset I 'm really tempted to include Sometimes It Happens on here, but didn't want to go too heavy on cover songs. The Wilco recording is beautiful. One Sunday Morning is another contender my for top-10. Secret of the Sea also almost made the list.

Part of the comedy of the show is Susie interacting with commenters and responding to the comments, which could usually provoke an interesting/funny comment or conversation by/with Jeff. That's going to disappear, unless they do the two-phone thing, I didn't care for the comments at first either, but have grown to appreciate them. I pay attention to them during the between-song banter, and minimize them during the songs. In the old format you could still see 2 or 3 or 4 comments when minimized but now you really have to pick one or the other, which is really annoying. Jeff is really good

Thanks particularly for your Mazzy Star link! I had not seen that video before, and it may be the best, clearest, up-close video of them out there. I wish there was a whole show like that. if it hasn't been said yet, Taylor Swift's new record is very good. Mirrorball in particular is fantastic.

You're very welcome, Donna! Glad you enjoyed some of my selections =)

Heather Robb (The Spring Standards) Jess Wolfe and Holly Laessig (Lucius) Hope Sandoval (Mazzy Star) Neko Case Kathleen Edwards Joan Shelley Macie Stewart and Sima Cunningham (OHMME) Erika Wennerstrom On the obscure end of the spectrum, I've been haunted by Rosa Agostino aka Red Ghost, a guest singer on the Soulsavers' 2009 album "Broken." She performs the lead vocal on "By My Side" and "Rolling Sky" and she performed her own set as the opening act on the "Broken" tour. Seems she never got signed and only has a few pieces of her own music out there.

Check your PM's.

Save It For Later is burned into my consciousness as a Pete Townshend song. I didn't hear the original version until many, many years later.

First (w/ my brother) - Eric Clapton - August 1990, Nassau Coliseum Second (First on my own) - Soul Asylum - May 1998, Tramps, New York City

Thanks. I hadn't heard it here at any of the east coast shows I've attended.

Nominations for the Official Song of the 2020 Global Pandemic
Yaz Rock replied to Chez's topic in Tongue-Tied Lightning
Social Butterfly by Soul Asylum. Sort of a celebration to going out again, but for a very different reason than a pandemic. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s2UHSWNmF4o I'm gonna come out of my coma Gonna try to make things right Stay out all night, tryin' to get a bite Like a social butterfly -
I had totally forgotten about All Lives, You Say? Probably because it hasn't been played live (much/ever?). Would it be fair to call that one a Schmilco outtake, or was it written and recorded after the album? All Apologies was quite unexpected, and very nice.

Name A Good Obscure Song by 3 Known Artists
Yaz Rock replied to Passenger Sid's topic in Someone Else's Song
Candy From a Stranger gets sort of a bad rap, but there are great songs on that record indeed. -

Right on! Are you watching the Friday night Quarantine Sessions? Dave and Ryan are playing all the obscure songs. -

What songs do you want to hear in the Tweedy show not played yet?
Yaz Rock replied to remphish1's topic in Just A Fan
He probably won't do it because it works best with a banjo, but I would love to hear Joe DiMaggio Done It Again! Has Jeff ever even performed it at a Living Room show? Such a fun song! Walk Where He Walked would also be cool. -
Great, thank you both. (Selfishly I would have told them to take Fridays off - I have a conflict with the Soul Asylum Quarantine Sessions at the same time!)
-
Did I hear them saying no show tonight? I thought they were moving to a M-F schedule and taking weekends off, if agreeable to the Clients? I'm not on FB so I don't know what the poll is over there.

I think that is just how instagram stories (which are only up for a day) work. As opposed to Instagram videos (which are permanent) which do allow scrubbing? At least, that is my experience too. So, is "like a broom bent to twist" (whatever that may mean) the official-as-it-gets lyric for Love Like a Wire? It is on the internet on some guitar tabs site, but I think maybe folks (myself included) interpreted it differently. Jeff's enunciation was pretty clear this time.

That list is also really awesome. Thanks for posting it!

Thank you tweedynerd for the songs-played lists (very easy to read and follow!) and u2roolz for the nightly setlist recaps!
