  1. I'm getting in on the gravy train, thanks to VC. A place where not liking KISS is a capital crime, now that's a dystopian future! What an idea for a novel and/or screenplay. Flaming Youth 451
  2. At the risk of a mod slap (though I'd counter with 'Tim Robbins is an angry drunk'),
  3. It was a good story. I find it refreshing that someone can be called an "angry drunk" after all of that "ignore" unpleasantness.
  4. Write him a letter in the charmingly sincere scrawl of a child or in the contrivedly mangled English of a foreigner. It has worked in the past.
  5. Good intentions were meant. Since I was not the first to make the inside joke, I assumed that it was in the open. I apologize, sincerely, for my mistaken assumption. I will only discuss the topic at hand in the thread.
  6. Okay. I agree that we should agree to disagree. Therefore, I won't reply to your above point, this recreation of a Ratt song needs to end. The last word is yours. I know better than to try and go toe to toe with a lawyer.
  7. Ha ha ha ha ha ha!!!! You should do standup. Kudos. Were segregationists enemies of freedom? And if so, what's the difference?
  8. No one said anything about male vaginas. Misunderstood freedom of speeech is the big ticket item, yes but the Bible is a huge ticket item and Leviticus means alot to them. I'm not insinuating that they are enemies of freedom, I'm saying it. They are enemies of freedom the same way that segregationists were.
  9. How about trying Pete Campbell or Roger Sterling?
  10. It only makes sense to me in that all of these enemies of freedom can blather on about bestiality, sin, male anuses vs. vaginas, etc. all they want but will soon have their own state recognizing all loving relationships between two consenting adults as legally valid. And if you think that the "gay thing" doesn't resonate with the base, then you're just whistlin' Dixie.
  11. I agree that no one is going to lose a state or local election over their stance, they are playing the base. You'd hope that even dullards would realize that Jindal's defense of Robertson is an example of the "stupid Republican Party" he railed against not long ago. None of this is going to matter anyway because with the addition of New Mexico, slightly over a third of the states now allow marriage equality. It is simply a matter of time until even Phil Robertson's Louisiana either joins the Freedom Train or gets run over by it. Either way, Phil, Bobby and the gang will have gays and lesbians
  12. "Politicians wading in to score votes in the never-ending election" sounds political to me, but that's just my opinion, man.
  13. The Duck flap is political in that it shows that people who purport to understand and love the Constitution and capitalism, don't. Politicians/elected officials are decrying an infringement of constitutional rights where none has occurred. They are upset at capitalism in action. A private enterprise making business decisions as they see fit in order to protect their brand and their profits should be right up Jindal, Palin and their ilk's alley. I am baffled as to why his "black" comments are getting relatively little traction in comparison.
  14. True. Phil Robertson has a bachelor's in physical education and a master's in education from Louisiana Tech, not the Louisiana College of Glossolalia & Snake Handling. He is educated in the formal sense but it is meaningless in the practical sense.
  15. Thanks I enjoyed that because it was a good read and also because it led me to "Wayne Coyne loves Miley dismisses Dylan in year end q & a" The Dylan thoughts/anecdotes were good. http://www.rollingstone.com/music/news/wayne-coyne-loves-miley-dismisses-dylan-in-year-end-q-a-20131218
  16. Kevin, the fact that they were/are governors goes right to the point. They don't "... have a bit more knowledge on the workings of government then the average rube out there", but were still elected.
  17. Exactly. To paraphrase bleedorange, most Americans are idiots (well, that was more Doug C/Bill Maher than bleedorange, as he was more diplomatic).
  18. The government did not jail him for what he said, therefore his 1st Amendment rights were not violated. He is free to say what he wants. His employer is also free to sanction him because of what he said if they feel that it could harm their bottom line. It is hilarious that these tea party idiots don't recognize their god (capitalism) in action. edit If I said to my classes the same things Robertson said, I'd expect to lose my employment. Also, what he said regarding blacks in pre-Civil Rights Louisiana versus today, is just as offensive to A & E's brand as the other drivel.
  19. How's it smell when it isn't engaged in sex?
  20. If it was such a great rack, what's it doing it Florida?
  21. Ha ha! I can't remember the last time I thought about Gibby and Co. I have a vague memory of seeing them once but am not sure.
  22. You all might as well move to Florida.
  23. Only when I had shifted into an animal with opposable thumbs!
  24. Since he is from Florida no one gives a shit about him.
