  1. I wasn't offended by the thread being closed but I do have a question regarding closures. What is the criteria? I am sure that it is in some rule thread somewhere but I couldn't be arsed. This thread was 'rightfully' closed. What made it 'right'? No name-calling, porn photos, racism or other negative 'isms', no major disrespect, etc. It just seemed to be a circular discussion, which is true of the vast majority (if not all) of the threads on the internet. What is the harm in allowing an inoffensive thread to go on and on and on until it dies of a natural death or becomes offensive/inappropriat
  2. Hey thanks for fixing it for me! You are correct that something is wrong with some people and as Wilco fans are people, there is something wrong with some Wilco fans. Well done turning my logic on it's head with the rude crowder-types being the ones that can't handle GA except I said that some are too SENSITIVE for GA. So to sound 'with it', fail. I stand by my point that if you can't handle some people/Wilco fans acting the way some folks act, then avoid general admission (and possibly leaving your home).
  3. Fail. Cool, you used trendy techno-speak! My opinion is that his main point, that something is wrong with some Wilco fans, is evidenced by this still being debated. It's general admission. Whether it is right or wrong that people crowd, ignore GA rules, etc. is irrelevant. People will be people. Do I particularly like it? No but I choose to cope. If you are in general admission, the truth is that you must deal with the realities or get angry. If you can't deal, then go to the back or get a reserved seat. Just as some people may be too sensitive for the internet, some people may be too sensitiv
  4. Exactly. Thereby, in my opinion, providing evidence of your main point.
  5. Let It Bleed. I was listening while grading tests this afternoon and thought how badass it would be if Wilco covered it. Hell, the entire album would work, Wilco-style.
  6. Though our levels of obsession clearly differ (understatement of the day), we all have our 'thing'. GTR-vibe Dave from Virginia happens to dig Blu-ray. I hope that it gets released so he can watch it in what would apparently be orgasmic delight. I've never understood audiophiles, videophiles, etc. I'm happy as long as it isn't distorted and I can make out the different instruments and see the movie clearly - yes, I know that I'd probably HEAR/SEE THEM EVEN BETTER and HAVE MY CILIA AND PHOTORECEPTORS GIVEN A RUB AND TUG with Blu-ray, et al. In all seriousness, keep fighting the good fight, GTR
  7. I was thinking the same thing. This calls for a new thread. "If any Wilco album (other than Being There and Kicking Television) were a double disc, what songs would you add to make up the extra disc?"
  8. I am glad that you asked and received your information. I want to thank you for the laugh I got imagining a version of Nothing'severgonnastandinmyway(again) that included a series of live Misunderstood-esque 'Nothings'.
  9. I would also like to point out that the question in the thread's subtitle has not been answered. What IS wrong with Wilco fans?
  10. I just want to point out that something serious was mentioned and apparently lost during this profoundly important discussion. Drunk Pink Lady, who, if memory serves, was a semi-famous Suzi Quatro groupie back in the day, may have been an embarrassment to herself what with the caressing and all but she tried to remind us how amazing the 'Lincoln Avenue' songs are. Will they ever grace a live show again?
  11. I would be extremely unhappy and contemplate violence.
  12. Welcome! Annnd if you can manage the above, you will be the ruler not only of VC but of the entire internet.
  13. This news is most unfortunate. I hereby resign my commission in the Wilco Army.
  14. Cut him a break. He took a blow to the head during the fight when Peter Hook clocked him with the Eccleshall.
  15. Am I the only person that immediately and currently thought/think that this thread was/is a gag? He can't be serious. Me thinks that the fisherman has caught a few.
  16. I agree with this opinion but can grasp why some would disagree. A fine album overall and it certainly conveys a mood.
  17. I enjoyed reading your post but this was information that I did not need.
  18. NO!!! I didn't read this or look at the set list photo when I originally replied after the show. That is the only song I have ever wished for live since Summerteeth. Countless shows helplessly hoping. To find out over a month later that it was on the list but not played is almost too much to bear. Damn.
  19. This a tardy reply but I haven't been here lately. My wife and I were the last 2 people standing at the stage on the Pat end. We saw both the 1st encore dick incident and the guy taken out by security incident, as they were just to our left. The 'encore dick' was trying to Zelig/Gump himself into the guitar strum scene and have a camera document what would appear to be a 'Me, my girl and Tweedy' moment (she was not with the dick). He was a drunken asshole. Jeff does good work. The security frog march was this dumb ass that lit up a joint. He was quickly removed. I said it earlier in the
  20. I know that all of the FLA gang aren't as able and/or stupid as my wife and me but the lack of FLA dates (hell, they haven't been in Tampa since 2005) don;t keep us from the Wilco. When the dates are announced and Tampa isn't listed, we start researching and scheming and put together a little Wilcation or 2 every year. It's getting harder to pull off though. This time mom said that she'd like us to drive her up to the Flint, MI area to visit friends and family. Lewiston was perfect for a 2 day get-away for us from MI and when they added Royal Oak, that was manna. Figure in Neko and the 97s an
  21. Excellent show. The set list was one of the best but when they play an extra 30-40 minutes, it's going to be pretty bad ass no matter what. We hung at Gusoline Alley (Bell's Two Hearted pints for $3!!) until 20 'til 9. We were okay with whatever places we could get and moved into the sea of humanity and got a decent spot. A dude lit a smoke and I turned around and noticed that the stage left balcony rail was vacant so told my wife to wait and I high-tailed it up there to see 3 people get there just in front of me. I looked over to the other corner and noticed for some inexplicable reason that
  22. I just read my above post and it sounds like a blog entry rather than a review. Sorry to anyone that read it and wanted me to shut the fuck up.
