Ok So I took the bait.....thanks for playing.....

Not according to numerous public quotes where he laments AM, and if that is so why spend so many years moving away from that material?
-
what does? I would like to read your response. You didn't take a minute to give an answer to the question I asked regarding SBS, why?

What factual data? I mean the only factual data would be sales (consumer) and reviews (critics) I found a site I'm sure your most aware of, metacritic, that tries to some extent cumulate data to give what could loosley be described as scientific to the critical component and based on that. YHF KT MM2 AGIB SBS Would be the order of the bands best work. Not sure where to find the sales figures. Anyone know?

I certainly respect your favorites, I mean you are the one who has to listen to it, but what gets me in the discussion of "chronologic order defines the bands best work" is SBS, the most recent most closely resembles the first two. So how can it be last? This is a sincere question b/c I'm intersted in hearing the thoughts of you on the board who agree that the chronologic order defines the bands best work in order.

How do you turn something subjective into objective? Must be Magic. Mr. Tweedy himself, who is one of only two to have a hand in all of these would disagree with what you perceive as fact. But who cares that is the fun of all this. Considering the stance do you still go to see the band? They don't play much of that stuff anymore, maybe a quarter of the show. The fantastic musicians in this band would be wasting their collective abilities if they played stuff that was written for a band of 4 to play.

Truth is defined by the one who believes it. I like there live sound more than any of their studio albums. Growing up listening to the Dead I find I'm this way about most bands. Completely off topic my friend gave me a copy off the Led Zep reunion show last December, wow, does it sound fantastic. I usually shy away from "reunion" shows but if they would tour based on this I would buck up.

Just reading through this it struck how this is really two completely different periods in this bands history. KT YHF AGIB MM1 BT SBS ST AM MM2 Really I love all their stuff, I just kind of ranked this in order of wwhat I listen to the most. Truthfully I listen to the multitude of live stuff more than anything.

The Pre-sale dates say Wed. Jan. 8th. My past experience has always been pre-sale on a Wed., but since the public sale is Thursday is it possible they mean Tues the 8th?

My two (out of 20) favorite are the one from the Charlottesville Twedy solo show. I can't find a pic. It's got a tree shaped like a guitar and a boy swinging on a swing off one of the branches. The other is from the Fillmore Tweedy solo shows in S.F. with the heart as a phonograph with the smoke coming out forming JEFF TWEEDY in the sound waves. That was the first i ever bought.

Welcome aboard, the more the merrier. I'm of the firm belief that once you see them live you are then completely hooked. My friend went with me this year and he never understood my obsession. He had had surgery on his foot and the standing sometimes gets to him. He told me after the show "I kept telling my self I'm going to sit in the grass after this next song and then the next song would rock" I knew then he was hooked. Curious, what songs did you use as your introduction?

Mine was stapled in the middle. Not sure if that is what you meant by not really attached. -
No order but just the one's I find myself listening to the most this year: Wilco "Sky Blue Sky" Andrew Bird "Armchair Apocrypha" Iron and Wine "The Shepherd's Dog" Robert Plant and Allyson Krauss "Rising Sand" Spoon "Gagagagaga....." Levon Helm "Dirt Farmer" Electrelane "No Shouts No Calls" Sharon Jones and the Dap Kings "100 Days and 100 Nights" One caveat I haven't heard the Radiohead yet b/c I moved to a very rural area where no high speed is available. I've been very pleased with the amount of good music released this year. Peace

The Flying Burrito Brothers Live - Avalon Ballroom 1969

I've heard the novel "Moody Food" is really good. It's a fictionalized work that uses Gram as it's central character. I think the author is Ray Robertson. Sounded good. I went to my local Barnes and Noble but they didn't have it. Probaly would need to go online. I did pick up "Twenty Thousand Roads" yesterday but haven't broken it opened it yet. That's the new Biography. Really looking forward to it as soon as i finish "Million Dollar Bash". On a seperate note some above mentioned the Dylan "I'm Not There" soundtrack. I love it. There are definetly about 5 or 6 songs that could have been -

Just picked up the new Archives Vol. 1 from Amoeba records. Halfway through the second disc in this fantastic set fom 1969 at the Avalon Ballroom. Wow. Band is tight and the sound is absolutely fantastic. Gram's voice in on. If your a fan and like them this is a must have. Liner notes are great with some wonderful pictures. Highly reccommend. Personal fave "Mental Revenge", Enjoy. -
I made the trek to Pittsburgh and they didn't have one either. I was a little bummed that some of Tees were sold out at both shows. I guess that's what happens when your the last stop on a tour.

Where did the information regarding "not touring much in 2008" come from? In the billboard article Jeff hints at touring at least two legs in 2008. I personally don't think it's ever cool, barring illness, that a band cancels dates. That being said I've never experienced a band more in touch with their fans. I doubt that they are out to lose any fans or create any ill feelings. How many bands of their size tour Europe TWICE in the same calendar year. There are cities and areas of the US that they haven't hit in years. Philadelphia comes to mind.

That's the first thing I thought. I liked the encores at Merriweather this year. The Asheville show 5/1/2003 was my first show as well and is a frequent flier in my CD player. I've seen this band 10 times live now and 2 Tweedy solo shows and I have been blessed to see 3 three encore shows. Asheville 2003, Merriweater post 2007, and the other night here in C'ville. I'm a lucky dude

Unbelievable show last night. Crowd was electric all evening. I did both Pittsburgh and C'ville and last night was an almost religious experience. I'm whipped today. I'm already looking forward to the spring. I would follow this band anywhere. My friend hooked me up with free tix he won from the local radio station because he said "I don't know anyone else who likes Wilco" Well he converted last night, at one point telling me (he has a surgically repaired foot and the venue has a slight incline) "I kept telling yself after the next song I need to go sit in the grass, but then the next song

I'm thinking seriously about coming up, although it would be the first show I've ever gone to by myself. I would be coming from Virginia ( going to the show in C'ville on the 20th). Can someone tell me what part of town Duquesne is? I want to get a Priceline quote for someplace nearby. Thanks. Also how is the arena? Are the sightlines pretty good from anywhere on the first level? Thanks again.

Just a little update, I sent off emails to Nonesuch, Wilcoworld HQ and Support and Tony Margherita Management and finally today I heard from Emily Rosenblum from Margherita management. She was very nice and is sending me a new disc. So there it goes, cool of them to send a new disc but still a little confused as to why I heard back from management and not the record company or the website. Maybe that is absolutely appropriate as I have never had a problem like this before. In the meantime I was unable to hear the show Sunday, caught yesterday's and I can't wait for 6/21.

I feel a little vindicated, but I wish I was the only one with this isssue (now that I got that 12 y/o out of me). I have sent emails to both wilcoworld HQ and Support and Nonesuch and no one has responded.

My apologies if I'm upsetting anyone, but I'm pretty computer savvy and it's not there, I explored the disc, the folder was set to show ALL files, and I tried opening it with quicktime, none of which have been successful, if anyone is having or had a similar issue and resolved it, I would be grateful to know what I'm doing wrong, thanks.
