  1. Happy birthday, Brad! Have a Bud Light (can) for every year, and one to grow on!
  2. It looks like Music Today is no longer handling the Wilco presales. Now they'll be doing them through Front Gate Tickets. You have to sign up first, just like you did for Music Today, so a head's up, especially to those who will be trying to get tickets tomorrow. Let us know what the new system is like if you get tickets for Tahoe or Berkeley!
  3. He's a guy. Guys pack light and wear slightly different variations of the same things while they're traveling. All of the guys in the band do. And admit it: if you had a badass green jacket like Jeff's, you'd want to wear it all the time, too.
  4. Caption for the second one: "Say 'boo hiss to Nels Cline' one more time. I dare you!"
  5. The university has a very large international student population, both among undergrads and grad students. There's always been (or at least was in the years I was there) a bit of tension between the university and the city, largely because of how the stupid, drunk undergrads act, and I always got the feeling that while Binghamton was diverse, it wasn't always tolerant, if that makes any sense. I hope that this horrible act brings the community together instead of dividing them even more. Thankfully, all my friends still in the area are okay, but a few of them know people who were working th
  6. Thanks for the head's up, Mrs. Peel. Because of these daily deals, Amazon has been getting most of my business lately, except for a few things I've gotten with an iTunes gift card. iTunes seems to have the online market cornered for pre-orders and exclusive bonus tracks (for now), but Amazon's sales are a lot better. I've bought probably at least eight or ten albums from Amazon since last fall, and I haven't paid more than $5 for any of them. It's all been their year-end sales or their daily deals.
  7. Where are you seeing a full list of summer tour dates? Because you're not going to look like the sharpest leaf point on the Canadian flag for complaining now if they announce a Toronto/Buffalo show when they announce the full summer tour. *reists the urge to be a jackass and include the little Canadian flag smilie*
  8. I lived in Binghamton for four years while I was getting my PhD. My apartment was within walking distance of the Civic Association. I'm an hour away now and still have friends in the area. I'm horrified by this--senseless acts of violence like this always bother me, but this one is especially sickening for me. The high school is around the corner and across the street from this, and they're in lockdown and wouldn't let students leave at normal dismissal time.
  9. When Nels's red pants shrink enough to become capri pants, then it's time for Wilco to call it quits.
  10. I have a seat for both Boston shows. I'm hoping I can actually use the tickets, since I still have no idea if I'm moving for next school year, because they're both really good seats for the price. I'm in section 109 both nights, which is the first section of $95 seating, even with the tip of the catwalk on the Edge's side. That's awesome that you're finally going to get to see them!
  11. I've had mixed experiences with him. The first time I saw him, probably about six years ago, he was amazing. When I traveled almost four hours to see him four years ago, he threw a hissyfit and got booed off stage. I'm glad I went to see him when he was an hour away last fall, though. I just know I'll never travel more than that to see him again, though, because it's not worth the risk.
